I am able to send my forms by mail to my tax preparer, but many people do not have that option, so wouldn't they still need to visit their preparer to have their taxes done in order to know how much to send to the IRS (if they owe anything)?

I've had the same company doing my taxes for years, so was able to do everything by mail/online and have already made my payment.
Eventually they would, but you don't need to know exactly what you earned to file the extension or make any payment. By filing the extension you basically move your deadline for anything until July 15... but you do still have to make a reasonable estimate or the IRS can void your extension... so make a reasonable estimate.

He was arrested for forgery because he falsified a medical document. He should also be held liable for any employee who lost wages or incurred medical bills due to his selfishness.
Yes I totally get that. But it should work both ways when people are knowingly infected but still go out. I'm sure if they traced those people the fall out from that would be pretty significant. People who fell ill because of those people should be able to hold them accountable.

The fact that we’ve still only tested the amount of people that South Korea does in a weekend is a catastrophe.
Of course, it's a lot easier to gear up systems and control a country that's a little smaller than Virginia -- which, BTW, is only the 37th largest state in the US, meaning the other 36 states that are larger than South Korea (some by factors ranging from 2 to 14) by themselves would require herculean efforts to test, treat and/or quarantine the sick elements in the population.

Granted, South Korea has a population equivalent to those of California and Ohio combined, but you can bet the rural parts of Korea aren't receiving the same level of attention as the 26.1 million people who live in the 10 largest Korean cities.

I've already paid exactly what I owed. But unless you owed additional taxes last year, you may have no way to even make a reasonable estimate unless you're willing to do the math - which can get complicated for those who aren't very good at basic math or lack reading skills.

Many people don't have a clue as to how much they pay in taxes.

The good news is that the penalty for underpayment is not as bad as many make it sound - I know. ;)

A well known billionaire (Bill Gates) has stated that he wants to microchip us our medical info (and who knows what else it does) and make a profit off of it during this crisis...

Dumb entitled Australian breaks self isolation rules and is fired:

Honestly, I'm glad to see consequences for breaking quarantine. We're far too lax in the US and even in my town I'm seeing way too many people not following recommendations. The amount of misinformation in the town FB group is frightening.

Oh, so Danny's kind of opposite his public persona.

He was with me, at least. (He was with his wife - she was tall, if I recall correctly, and very pretty but she wasn't really friendly either).

To the contrary, I also dealt with Charles Shaughnessy (from The Nanny), Ray Romano, Bryant Gumbel, Nancy Lopez (golfer...w/ her dog), and Steven Tyler, to name a few.

They were all really sweet to me; very down to earth.

Funny - I also remember Rosie O'Donnell (and her sister, her wife and kids at the time) and Cuba Gooding, Jr. were problem guests. Rosie's group was insufferable. Cuba kept calling down to the front desk saying people were prank calling him (they weren't...we never disclosed VIP guests in the building, let alone rooms). He was drama - drama - drama. 🤣

And -- key point -- economic stimulus payments from the government have, in the past, been advances on income tax refunds. I've looked and can't find any disclaimers about whether or not these checks will be advances on refunds or outright grants.

Hate to say this, but people need to read the conditions attached to any checks coming directly from the Treasury Department.

Yes but NBA Gobert would be replicated by 5 year old kids picking their nose and touching their slobber and putting it all over ride seats and other things.

You are right. Although different intentions are at play(mockery and games vs kids too young to care or know) spreading is ultimately what matters here.

Yeah, except that within two weeks of knowing H1N1 had touched down in the US, CDC had thousands of tests on the ground and ready to go. By the same point in that outbreak, we had hundreds of thousands SHIPPED. It doesn’t mean you have control over the pathogen, but you’re not failing on the most basic level of seeing who has this. Right now, we have the worst testing rate in the Western world by any metric, per capita, absolute numbers, anything. This isn’t our first rodeo. We’re supposed to be the leading center of disease response on the planet.
