The only cruise that would ever interest me would be the Norwegian fjords, mainly because the views are best from the water.

I'm not sure that's true, as many fjords are too small for a cruise ship to enter. on land, you can (and have to, at points) take ferries on the fjords - that also gives the great views. Plus there is some amazing hiking that is hard to do from a cruise ship/

Anyway, all this is way off topic of coronavirus (though much more enjoyable!) My state (Ohio's) numbers continue to increase, but at least by a lot smaller number than the state to the north. I hope vaccinations hold down this surge.

The benefit of a Caribbean cruise: instead of the "same old" beach every day for a week, you wake up to a completely new and different beach at a new port. I LOVE the endless possibilities of planning shore excursions, choosing between snorkeling, culinary tour, beach day, ziplining, rafting, etc...

I'd much rather a cruise than (1) week at a hotel.
Cruise line food beats a turkey leg and cold fast food in the parks anyway. I think turkey legs just get reheated for the next day.

One cruise was enough for me.
It confirmed my suspicion that I'd much rather stay at a real hotel that is on a beach, than to be in a floating hotel that only visits beaches.
I have never been interested in a cruise. Same as a resort vacation on a beach. Both are meh to me. My vacations involve amusement parks or going to new places and exploring what the area has to offer. Sitting on a beach to me is boring.

This is very bad news folks, I don't expect expert knows about fourth wave of COVID-19 is coming soon, is more lockdowns in US is coming is possible? @GoofGoof
It's happening here in Ontario. All restaurants are back to takeout only and gyms and hair salons are closed again. All cause hospitalizations are up again as well as cases.

On another note the Vancouver Canucks are currently going through a Covid outbreak. Over 20 players and coaches have it as well as their families. From the symptoms that many of the players have I for sure have no interest in catching it. The symptomsinclude vomiting, cramping and dehydration. I'm amazed at how many are ok with catching it cause they will survive it.

Small ship cruising is a different animal. We have done this (ships with 300 passengers or fewer) and have had wonderful adventures.

A downpour in Rovinj, where even the other passengers stayed aboard, but we braved it, went to a little place to get some coffee, and the owner brought out some of his "home brew" to share with us. Good times.

The same in other places, where we spent the whole day climbing hills, etc. There are all sorts of cruises, for all sorts of people - you just have to find the right one. There is something wonderful about going from one small town (or even major cities) to another without having to pack/unpack.

Too bad the Flyers haven’t played them recently, they could use a break....3-7 in their last 10 :(

That sounds pretty cool. I’ve always though the river cruises looked like a lot of fun for that same reason.

As soon as things calm down we will be doing another one. It's nice to walk off of your boat, and go directly to a tour/personal exploration.
I always thought the Nile River cruise looked really cool and a great way to see the pyramids. I get the Viking brochures in the mail and that one is added to my bucket list for sure.

I was thinking of something more the size of a river cruise, or Hurtigruten.

Nothing to worry about. In the trials over 80% of people reported a soar arm, but all other adverse reactions were under 50% of people. Headache and moderate fatigue were in the 40 percentile and things like fever, chills, severe fatigue and other flu like symptoms were in less than 10% of people.

I assume these numbers should start changing a bit. I keep reading that younger folks feel the vaccine or have more side effects, if this is true, I have to assume those numbers will change since the elder population was vaccinated first.

I had both shots of the Moderna vaccine and nothing I nor my wife experienced compares w/ COVID so we still feel that getting vaccinated is the best choice.

Well, I had a sore arm after my first vaccine shot but I suppose others could be flying high after theirs. :p

Yeah, yeah 🤓🤪🥸

The only issue I had with my first shot is I drank a bottle of water right before going in and I really had to use the restroom so that 15 min wait after the shot was “uncomfortable“. My arm hurt a little the next day, but I honestly don’t think I would have even noticed if I wasn’t looking for it. I think others got that symptom way worse than me.
