It is not a misnomer. Human bites that break the skin are almost always infected. Of the three most common bites we treat in the medical field, dog bites are the "cleanest", followed by cats, then human.

EDIT: And this has nothing to do with good or bad oral hygiene practices, it's simply the reality of the commensal oral bacteria that we live with.
I'd bet that the type of person who bites another tends to not be the most hygenic of types.

Many of the most adamant mask wearers don't understand this.
Look at all of the people who still wear cloth masks when driving alone.
Look at all the people walking in say a supermarket parking lot, or in a park - far from others while wearing cloth masks.
I wouldn’t make assumptions when you see such people—I’m among them. I simply find it easier to leave my mask on while out rather than constantly lower and lift it.

Enough of questions, we don't know if we will ever get another surge by next month or beyond because vaccines will speed up ramping to stop variants like UK. @GoofGoof
We are up to nearly 1.7M doses a day on average for vaccines administered and that number keeps rising. We need to keep our eyes on the ball, continue to follow basic protocols like masks and distancing for a little while longer and get the vaccine as soon as it’s available to us. If we all do that we should be in good shape in a few months.

Maybe. But the cultures from infected human bite wounds tend to grow the normal bacterial flora found in most people's mouths and on their skin: Eikenella, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Peptostreptococcus, Fusobacterium, etc.

Wearing cloth masks while driving with the AC / Heat on may be a good thing since a number of drivers could be breathing in dirty air. One of the easiest filters to change out DIY is the cabin air filter. This filter in my Honda costs $30. The dealer charges $90 for cabin air filter replacement. It takes less than 90 seconds to change out. $60 dealer profit for a less than 2 minute job is ridiculous. You Tube tutorial is your friend.

Yeah but I'm worried about another surge like UK variant soon I hope it's not gonna have another surge by next month or months.

Hopefully nearly all of the most vulnerable age group (at least those who want the vaccine) will be fully vaccinated and past the two week period by early May. Seems very possible at the current rate. Assuming the effectiveness in preventing serious illness and hospitalizations hold up, that should keep hospitalizations and deaths from being nearly as big an issue even if there is another spike like the winter spike in the under 65 population.
Yes.
And a spike in the infection rate of the population that is less likely to require hospitalization - much less likely to result in death - is far less of a stress on society.
Remember when we enacted all of this so that we wouldn't crash the healthcare system?
If covid infected people without sending too large a portion of them to hospitals, and in some cases - ultimately killing them - we wouldn't have enacted these measures in the first place.
Well, when enough of the most vulnerable are vaccinated - those left that do contract the virus will be far less likely to require hospitalization.
They will merely be home sick, or out and about if they are asymptomatic.
And if they are out and about - they won't be spreading to a vulnerable population, because that population will be vaccinated.

I know all about cabin filters in cars.

Supermarket parking lot I can totally understand. When I go into a store I never take the time to stop in the parking lot to remove my mask, I wait until I am back in my car.

Nothing you can do outside of continuing to wear a mask, distance and get a vaccine when you can. The best way to minimize the impact of variants is to reduce community spread. Cases nationally are down 60% week over week. That needs to continue. What we can’t do is lose focus and think we’ve reached the end of this prematurely. If anything we all need to bear down a little harder for a little while longer since we now know it will all be over soon.

Also people forget, if you deliver a knuckle sandwich to someone’s jaw and get cuts that means that the hard tissue you hit was teeth and you have suffered a bite injury.

Sorry to say it's happened before and will likely happen again. Hopefully we can learn something from this one so are better prepared for the next one.
Like taking better care of ourselves in the first place.
And teaching our children and grandchildren to take better care of their bodies as well, so when the next pandemic hits - their bodies are more likely to fare better.
But we won't.
Because we didn't learn that.
We learned - abuse your bodies your entire life, and when the next pandemic comes along - all you'll need to do is wear a mask and there will be a vaccine available in less than a year.
Probably even quicker due to how relatively easy these mRNA vaccines are to produce.

Let’s roll...if people want normal, money and “small business” (which is crap in the end...a shield for the congressional money complex)...then get this done.

Had my first dose 2 weeks ago...and honestly it was less noticeable after than a tetanus shot.

That's good because car techs have commented this particular air filter is one of the most neglected filters that get changed out.
Yes, if you bring your car in for scheduled maintenance these filters are changed.
But if you don't, one should really do it themselves.

Plus it's kinda nice just for the weather protection alone. I've always done winter runs in a balaclava, but I may well use my collection of masks next winter anyway for long parking lot walks. My face isn't as chapped this year.
