What’s the crux of the theory?

I went to look at Twitter. It’s more Of the Plandemic nonsense type.

I hope the money allocated helps with logistics. It’s easy to add headcount for more phone operators, people to direct traffic, people to track vaccinations and schedule appointments. That’s stuff where people can be trained pretty quickly. We have millions still unemployed and underemployed who would be glad to have a paying job or some extra income.

Actually, a friend of mine just volunteered for a county task force. They are working in a call center (hopefully adequately spaced!) and calling seniors to schedule appointments. So they aren't even getting paid.

I did see they were starting that around me too. A community group was organizing volunteers. Definitely a worthwhile cause. Maybe they could offer to move people up the list a little if they volunteer their time.

You're helping to prove what @ParkerLoLsis saying. The more people do these things and don't bother following social distancing protocols, the more time it will be until the world can get back to normal and socialise as we did before despite the vaccines being rolled out. We're all fed up but I don't want to go around meeting people and risk spreading a disease I don't have symptoms for to somebody else, who could then pass it onto a vulnerable person who ends up in hospital or dies. That's how these things work.

It's why we're now in a third lockdown in the UK. Our government's incompetency is obviously a major contributor, but people don't follow the rules, cases fly up and unfortunately people pass away. I've seen my parents a handful of times since last March, and I've seen my friends in person once. My wife fully moved from the USA to the UK right before the UK first locked down and we can't get back to the USA to see her parents. It sucks and we missed out on a Christmas in the US as well as taking my parents to WDW for the first time since 2002, but it's what has to be done. I just wish everyone thought like that.

I agree that life is tough in Britain, as it is all over the world. However I feel blaming the government is somewhat unfair. No one knew how things were going to pan(Demic!) out.
The distribution of the vaccinations seems to be going well. I strongly believe that there is a north/south divide with people in the South being much more anti lockdown. I am in Manchester and our Mayor has behaved appallingly, in my opinion, focussing on business over lives.
The furlough scheme, amongst many others is giving support to businesses and workers, maybe not enough but much more generous than many countries.
My husband and I have been self isolating since February, though he walks the dog every day, late at night to avoid contact with anyone. My elder son lost his job in August after being furloughed, but got another one within 10 days, not suitable for a history graduate, but I am so proud of him for taking a job as a driver so he remained working. Our younger son, who lives in Cardiff (Wales) has not been able to visit us, or us him, since Christmas 2019. We have followed the guidance/rules and will continue to do so until it is safe not to. We have remained in contact with friends and family through phone and Skype etc. and our experience shows that they are all following the rules.
We were due to have a 6 week holiday in Florida with 3 weeks in Disneyworld so we’re seriously impacted in many ways.
The government has made mistakes, probably less than some countries and more than others but I do believe that they are doing their best in a totally unique situation for virtually everyone alive today. Just like us they are unable to see into the future and have to make decisions in good faith.
It is the most horrific job to have at the moment! I would like to believe that I would support any government at the moment, as long as I believed that they cared for people above businesses- support the businesses but if it’s a choice support the lives of people.
I totally agree that people should be able to follow rules for the sake of humanity. Life may not be as much fun as it was but it’s still life!
I hope that you get back to the United States, before too long and that your parents are able to get to Disneyworld and have a fantastic time!

How do you KNOW many high risk people have had enough?
My husband and I are high risk and will keep isolating until the risk of infection is much lower thanks to vaccines, herd immunity or the virus mutating until it is less potent.
People who go out without following guidelines are, I believe, showing little empathy or compassion for those at risk. I appreciate that it could be said that those of us who are following the guidelines could be accused of showing little empathy or compassion for those who wish to return to some form of normality. The difficulty is that we have so much more to lose........

I’ve had enough of it but it’s not up to my schedule. If 4,000 people are dying everyday I’m not gonna whine about watching Disney+ another night at home.

So this one impacts the spike protein more than the other ones....not to fear monger, but that's not good...at all.

Very little of this makes sense. Yesterday, my governor said our ~40% distribution was actually 72% because of Federal holdbacks. But there are no Federal holdbacks?

I think what I read is that they had already started releasing the federal reserve before it was officially announced. Based on the announcement made, many states were expecting a surge of doses delivered next week, but the numbers forecast for delivery next week already included any left in reserve.

It appears...which mean production isn’t on the projected targets at all.

The article mentions there is no reserve b/c the manufacturing supply had stabilized. So OWS did not see a reason to hold back.

What’s unfortunate is that many locales were hoping to dramatically increase vaccination rates, but now can’t because their weekly allocation will be the same.

This is going to take forever...

Probably 1.5 years at this rate...and that doesn’t address that they won’t get 80% to take it

Not all high risk people have had enough but I personally know a few who have.

My brother's friend's mom who was very high risk (over 65 + health issues) died. She was infected by her husband who started having beer night with a bunch of friends a few months ago. All the friends were also in the high risk age group.

That's kind of what I thought. Maybe the COVID ICU was getting near capacity so they were preparing to expand capacity if needed. I certainly wouldn't have interpreted that "warning" as some kind of conspiracy.

Ever since I saw that seemingly intelligent people think there are tracking nanobots put in the vaccine that were created by Bill Gates I've learned there are people who believe some pretty crazy stuff.

I thought the spike was coming because a certain high profile “villain” is moving in to the next county up this week and he’s bringing all his no mask wearing, Covid infected friends....there goes the neighborhood
