Drive-by testing is already underway in many places in the US.They [Korea] actually have the drive by testing that we're not going to have for months.
I understand it perfectly and my opinion still stands. The number of additional deaths as a result still does not justify these extreme actions.
They are literally hurting the quality of life of everybody. The economic damage caused will be damage the quality of many millions of lives for years afterwards.
People die. It is sad but life goes on. My wife has lost 3 of 4 siblings, all under the age of 40. It was sad. We mourned. We miss them but life goes on.
That is my whole point. The cost of these actions vs. limiting the spread (although not by as much) with actions like vastly expanded testing and isolation of people found to be infected.I agree about our actions being too extreme..but at the same time I do think it will limit the spread... the question is-
At what cost?
The answer to that is what I’m afraid of the most.
It was not to be taken a high likelyhood but also something that is a concern. Especially when sovergn rule is not a thing anymore but she has a lot of emotions geared towards her.
Not saying it will happen, but it would be one of the reasons for her to move.
Economic hardships bring plenty of riots. Extremists go crazy over lost sports games. It is not a hard prediction when thinking of a public figures safety, especiaooy the Queen's case.
I think that’s the key to getting this under control. With the dive up testing you avoid people who could be negative in a waiting room with people who are positive. Once the testing ramps up and the actual sick people are put on quarantine we can start to get ahead of this and move towards business as usual.Drive-by testing is already underway in many places in the US.
I’m sorry, I’m an Engineer, not an English major. My vocabulary and choice of words have different meaning then most. By normal, I simply meant that the parks would be open and CPs would continue.Things are looking far from normal by then. The parks may reopen, but watch this space as they say.
Parks will be open. Eventually. There would be CP positions for those who want them.I’m sorry, I’m an Engineer, not an English major. My vocabulary and choice of words have different meaning then most. By normal, I simply meant that the parks would be open and CPs would continue.
The status of park ops, hours, attendance, and expansion are the least of my concern at the moment.
Windsor would also a nice set up as long as all the looky loos are not around. Those poor guards and this families that live there. Talk about living in a fishbowl.Windsor is just outside London. She goes there pretty much every weekend. If there were concern about her safety, she would be moved to Balmoral or some other remote estate. There’s no reason to explain this news in such dramatic terms; it’s basically a non-story.

The cost of this to the economy is not fathomable. Multiple industries will see every company in bankruptcy or needing enormous bailouts.
If people are going out of their way to maintain a comfortable distance around other people, they’re probably also aware of what they’re touching. At least, I know I am.I agree. Look at things we’re hearing “I went to a movie theater, but don’t worry, it wasn’t crowded!” “I went to the grocery for my 802nd package of toilet paper, but I stayed 6 feet away from everyone besides the cashier!.” “I went to CVS for hand sanitizer but didn’t physically bump into anyone”
Like, what?? It’s not spreading by simply standing or sitting within 6ft of someone. Like most other virus, the biggest way to contract it is by TOUCHING something which was touched by someone else, and then touching your face prior to washing your hands.
When you’re at a movie theater, or market, or drug store, you’re touching stuff. Stuff that other people have touched.
But yet people appear to believe that it’s only by standing/sitting close. We’re not going to eliminate when folks are still doing the things listed above.
I’m not saying that everyone should stay home, not in the slightest..I’m simply pointing out the oddness in what’s going on, and how people are reacting.
