Calm down and provide your CV that shows your background in Epidemiology and I'll consider your viewpoint as anything but conjecture.
Sorry...spork May not be right here...

But that’s not as bad as trying to make flu comparisons and say “nothing to worry about”

We live in a over consumed, lavishly spending, little responsibility world and occasionally we all need to be knocked down a peg.

Downplaying a health crisis sounds a tad too entitled.

And again...this goes back to everyone making the boo-boo face about “my Disney parks”. If this was in Manhattan and we were postulating shutting down the theater district...I have little doubt that “overreactions” would be embraced near unanimously.

There have been new cases identified in Florida, though not yet in Orlando. Regardless of how actually dangerous it is, fact is people are panicking. I fear Disney and Universal closing their parks because of it, especially since there's precedent with them doing so in Japan
“They” didn’t do it in Japan. The OLC calls the shots over there.
So...um

Yeah. :(
No offence, but it’s nothing to be concerned about. Truth be told most states probably have it. We have it in Manchester - akin to you having it in Orlando. Am I worried? No. Am I taking advertised precautions? Yep.

Yeah...people haven’t really learned recent lessons about the danger of free “information”

It's not that they haven't learned, they're either incapable of learning or they don't want to learn because it would tear down their version of reality.

...anyway I'm done with the politics BS.

Sorry...spork May not be right here...

I'm not right about what? I didn't give an opinion, I simply asked for data to support a statement.

How is that even relevant?

Source please.
“Most cases of coronavirus infection are not severe, but some people do become quite sick. Data from the largest study of patients to date, conducted in China, suggests that of coronavirus patients receiving medical attention, 80 percent had mild infections, about 15 percent had severe illnesses, and 5 percent were critical.”

If any cases are anywhere near Disney, it's game over for Central Florida.
Gonna take more than that
Yeah ... I don't think so. There would really have to be a huge increase in cases for them to shut down their bread and butter parks.
Agree...they would shut but it would have to be a direct hit on the travel infrastructure...ie cases in the parks, hotels or OIA...for it to get there.
You must work for Fox News.
I don’t think that comparison applies in this case

Universal owns USJ, unless they just did it to align with Disney. If they do decide to close in Central Florida I'd bet it would be one of the few things that Disney, Universal, and Sea World actually coordinate on.

I think everyone is getting entrenched and shouting.

I’m not saying your argument is invalid...I’m saying there could be information that none of us knows - as it’s developing - that may make either side here more wrong/right.

You missed my point on this...it wasn’t a personal attack

Oh, I didn't take it like it was. Was just wondering what I got wrong when I didn't share an opinion. I just wanted data to confirm the statement because in all of the news/drama I've seen lately I hadn't seen that.

If I thought it was an attack, you'd know. :hilarious::joyfull:

I dare say they wouldn’t be given a choice if it came to it. It’d be uncharted waters. 9/11 was immediate, this would have warning.

As someone living in Korea which is hard hit right now, I can tell you, those donwplaying aren't taking things serious enough.

This effects everyone very differently and thanks to how easily this virus spreads the US healthcare system isn't closed to prepared to deal with this.
