They are increasing attendance levels in all the parks so while they are not eliminated they are easing up on restrictions.
Not sure where you heard that but from what has been said Disney hasn't upped capacity just have been taking spots from resort guests and giving it to AP holders. From what Disney put out yesterday they aren't going to loosen restrictions any time soon.

Do you have a source for that? @marni1971 said that capacity hasn't increased since re-opening, but, that was a few weeks ago.
I knew somebody would immediately fall into that trap.

I guess people are under the impression (mistaken) Florida was in control??

.Disney isn’t seeing the demand now or for the foreseeable future to change there current stance much.

I'm here at MK now.
Been here since 9:30....lots of people here.

Currently waiting in line for CoP which just went down.
Awaiting maintenance.

My experience here thus far over the last few days is that lines move pretty quick despite growing to very long lengths.
Very deceptive...but good that it keeps moving briskly.
Not having FP is making a difference indeed.
In my case, a positive.
I've done a lot already thus far, and I was not expecting to with it being a Saturday.

you really don't need a source to see that capacity is increasing. I've been visiting continuously since reopening and it's gotten busier and busier with each passing week. Also the park pass availability has been replenished continuously for all reservation types. Park hours have been extended. They don't extend park hours without the parks being busy. The Governor gave Disney & Universal permission to increase attendance as well.

I get it: the way I say it sucks often. But I don’t patronize or misdirect people.

Disney has already told everyone what they see coming...months ago.

They were built as high capacity rides...fastpass + counteracted that fact.

That’s why it’s unlikely to return.

Yes it's gotten busier but that doesn't mean capacity has been increased. I believe they are just hitting their capacity now. You have to remember resorts are from being full. Its mostly AP holders that are filling the parks.

That's what people thought weeks ago and they said capacity must have increased and then our insiders said capacity didn't increase. That's how low attendance was when they first opened.

Some resorts are full on the weekend. Yacht club has hit the mark on a few occasions. And they have replenished park reservations for all types on several occasions. That's increasing attendance. I'm not saying it's a daily thing but they have bumped things up on some dates.

Right - attendance not capacity

Continuously??

Also...an increase in foot traffic is not indicative of higher capacity. It just means it’s less of an eerie ghost town like it was In July. I imagine that a higher than usual Florida resident population is attending. They really have no reason to not to at this point.

But the fact that outside hotel attendance is around 20%...if they’re lucky...and that disney has a large chunk of their inventory offline...tells the actual story. I’m told what is open is still in “low occ” as well.

This kinda reminds me of “the parks are packed!!” For the last 5 or so years prior to 2020. The “let them eat cake” era. Perhaps the fact they hadn’t invested enough to handle their aggregate attendance rise and ride capacity collapsed was the issue? Not physically packed parks.

So 800 rooms out of 35000 is on 2/7 of the week is your metric?

Do you know if the entire inventory was online? Because it would show as 95% capacity even if they had half mothballed in the system. I know that game.

You obviously are an employee...the signs are there. Hope the recovery - whenever that is - is good for you. Gonna be a long road.

True enough, the days of looking down and instead of seeing the ground all you could see were peoples feet are gone for the foreseeable future. The increase in elbow room is actually an experience enhancer that many a guest enjoys.

Yes, that is indeed true
I lived the days before FP.
This has been a 'nostalgic' visit for this old dragon.
;)

My comment was for a couple of folks here that were curious about if FP was having a positive or negative effect on a current visit.
Thus far, I'd say FP not being available is a plus at the moment.

Again I never stated the place is packed. I stated they have increased park capacity on a few occasions to allow more people in. I'm not an employee and have been in the damn parks continuously. Obviously you haven't otherwise you could clearly see it's busier than it's been.

More people in the parks isn't proof that they've increased capacity. It just means there have been more people in the parks.
