Then it's good you are able to weather through this crisis. Many others, who will never suffer from or be affected by CV-19 aren't as lucky.

Who are these others? Anyone with a job who was furloughed qualifies for the unemployment. Now there are some who didn’t get it, but that’s a problem with the state system.

I’m not counting on it right now. That’s for sure.
I’m pretty sure one side does not want to incentivize people not to work. I do think they’ll send out checks . I’ve heard checks for people that return to work. I’ve seen the vacation tax write off floated. I’ve seen so many different proposals I stopped paying attention.

The millions of unemployed that will suffer minimal or no threat from CV-19 disagree with you.
Who has a job isn’t dependent on who has COVID. Who has a job is dependent on customers. Customer behavior is not solely driven by government mandates. The examination of March’s data showed people changed their behavior 6-29 days before government mandates. All people say, "vulnerable people should stay home." 50% of people fall into the "vulnerable" category, one way or another. So how does that work for business then? You can’t force people to be customers.

Pretty sure all the highly populated counties have done this anyways.
It’s tone from the top. The people are much more likely to accept and follow a requirement when all levels of government and all political parties agree. For example a Democratic mayor requiring masks while a Republican governor refuses to do so is a nod, nod, wink, wink to people that they don’t really need to follow. Good job by Abbott taking leadership.

Here you go for those posters that have been saying "no one is saying to shut it all down"...

We were already shut down for months and cannot afford to just close everything again. Stay open with rules in place.
The Walt Disney company can absolutely afford to stay closed for longer...like few companies could.

And...bonus...if our leaders take proper steps - and they have actually taken some - we could also preserve the workers and the economic situation.

None of these things are unreasonable. Reopening can be delayed and still happen. Probably in a better Business environment - frankly.

I heard an economist - a good one not from Illinois - make a great analogy: we aren’t “stimulating” the economy...we put it into a medically induced coma. Because this has never been seen. It’s worked for the most part.

Now it’s time to take additional steps as needed until the economy returns to being about money - not hospital beds.

Tarrant. Dallas. Harris. Travis. Bexar.

Tarrant county is only businesses and some of the cities have said their citizens don't need to wear one. I believe Bexar's ended at the end of the month.

I'm just outside of Dallas county and the counties all around me have said no masks (now this might change things, finally). This is a huge step in the right direction.

Unfortunately, first time is a warning. Second+ is $250 fine. No jail at all.

Bexar extended yesterday. Also, inside businesses is the most important location anyways.
But doesn’t matter. State orders now. We are all on the same page. I’m good with it. Have no reason not to be.

Same here. Been wearing my mask. Of course, there's going to be a lot of people butt hurt. I hope I run into some of those people soon.

Wait. Does inside a business like a grocery store fall under “public spaces”?? Or more directly, does the order cover all businesses as well?
