Quickanswer , they then know they have it and can act on that information and quarantine. Doctors and the Desantis echoed it again just today that it is good news to catch these positive cases.
Worst case scenario...someone is infected and doesn’t know it so they potentially infect others
Better scenario...someone is infected and tests positive so they know it and can quarantine and not infect others
Best scenario...they don’t get infected in the first place

It’s not good news that infections are going up. It’s only good news that at least some of them are being caught with testing.

Some will undoubtedly be worried and concerned about going to work.

One video of a few Cast Members isn't representative of the feelings of the thousands that WDW employs.

so it is "just four more weeks" for you correct?
Since this is still a "novel" virus my actual stance is more nuanced, but I am fine with calling it "August 1st" for expediency. If you agree we are talking "trend" not "severity."

That was also a finding of reviewing Iran's data that I posted earlier. 1 month after the deaths started rising, as of today deaths have reached 85% of peak, and are still climbing. Because I don't want this to turn into "yeah, deaths are increasing but it's not as high as April so it's not bad." If the 7-day average is consistently climbing instead of dropping, it counts.

However you need to work it for yourself to get there. Good news is more testing, more getting discovered/positives all I have been saying.

so I take that as a yes "four more weeks" now instead of two weeks. Got a feeling that 7 day trend in four weeks will be necessary. What happens if it stays steady at four weeks

Kudos to VP and governor for taking Swift action and acknowledging the problem. Highlights for me include these quotes:

President Trump wanted us to be here today with the developments over the last two weeks with the rising positivity and the rising number of cases with a very simple message and that is to use people of Texas: We’re with you,” Pence said.

About two weeks ago something changed, he said. However, Pence said that he believed it was not the reopening, but the behavior of people not wearing masks or social distancing.

Pence urged everyone to wear a face covering. He wore a mask as he came off Air Force 2, as did Abbott and other state officials who met the plane.

So Pence agrees that rising numbers of cases and percent positive is a big issue. His urging people to wear face coverings needs to be the new talking points at all times now. Hopefully it will be. Couldn’t agree more that it’s not the re-opening that is the problem it’s people’s behavior.

These shouldn't even be new talking points. But I figure, the learning curve in our country is... the slowest, so kudos to them for graduating. However delayed.

August 1 to "review data" not "when I expect trend to change."

I expect we will have 2ish weeks of trend lines (states & US), so we can all look at the slope. The extra 2 weeks also allows for delays in state recording (like the disclaimer on most state's dashboards "data within the past two weeks will be updated frequently.").

EDIT: If it's flat in 4 weeks, we all thank our lucky stars, the kids get to go back to school without too much hand-wringing and we continue to monitor the situation because it's still a novel virus.

Think for yourselfer
No good news today - again. Get ready for shutdown deux...it’s on a collision course.
As far as the video goes: where you under the mistaken impression that a significant number of Disney employees don’t sit on their brains?
Shutdown 2. Can you imagine? Talk about not learning from mistakes.

Six hour day at universal today. Everything very smooth. Team members strongly enforcing masks. I understand being cautious and weary of WDW reopen but I think it can be done.

Yes they are doing a really good job and DIsney will be doing the same if not better. At least the chorus from the doomsday bunch of delaying the Disney opening has died down since the reality that there is currently no reason to delay is obvious to everyone else.

It feels as good as it could in today’s times. It’s a bit of musical chairs while in some attraction queues but for the most part it seems people want to follow the rules and enjoy the time we have.

It is a very hot day today and I’ve gotten used to the masks entirely. I wear a comparably thick cloth one as well as it fits the best.

No matter how you choose to interpret the data, half a million deaths in less than 6 months from a novel virus is a global tragedy. May their loved ones find peace. 💔:(

All deaths are sad , even tragic, do you express the same melodrama for the 28 million that have also died so far in the past 6 months or the 120000 that have just died just today and still climbing, just over one death per second.

You must be fun at funerals..

So a person comes to a Disney fan board and shares melodramtic tweet to elicit sadness on BTW a non verified estimate number of deaths. Then you say the one who says it is good news that the deaths have hit a record low, which is not an estimate, is the one that is fun at funerals. mmmmkay.
