Good news, the trends continue, US deaths dropped 20% from last Saturday to 506, that is the lowest number of deaths on a Saturday since March. Florida overall general and ICU capacity is staying steady if not decreasing a bit. AZ and TX since some were concern is also showing the same census trends roughly stable and in some cases decreases.

If trend continues all state will be in the single digits very soon

I don’t see how we expect deaths per day to continue dropping with cases skyrocketing. Has something magical happened since March/April?

Think for yourselfer
"Sweden’s 5,230 deaths translates to a toll per million inhabitants of 511, many times higher than the corresponding totals in neighbouring Denmark (104), Finland (59) and Norway (47), all of which imposed strict confinements – but lower than the 650 registered in the UK, Spain’s 606 and Italy’s 573."

And it’s basically over in Sweden. So let’s see how this ends, shall we?

Not magic. Science. Remember, follow the science. The science says young people don’t die at high rates, and young people are the ones being infected. And our treatments have improved quite a bit, ya know, because science!

Also, thanks to N.Y. and N.J. we now know not to send active Covid patients into LTC facilities. Great job by us!

Its amazing the downplay from many on here. Yes deaths aren't as high but still the spread is concerning. It wasn't just about flattening the curve but also putting in measures so it doesn't spike like it has. Yes the virus may not be as bad as originally thought but we shouldn't be in a rush to reopen everything. When cases are rising like they are, Florida should be proactive and take some steps back in opening. I don't call it fear if people don't want to go to parks cause they don't want to possibly get sick.

I know you keep saying how Canada hasn't made masks mandatory but you overlook the other social distancing measures we have. Restaurants are only allowed patios, social distancing is enforced in most places. They fine people $900 for not complying. We even have officers at the beaches to keep social distancing in place.

Maybe the virus is becoming less virulent. We are also learning how to treat it. Putting patients on a prone position has proven helpful. I’m not sure if they were doing this in the beginning.New drug therapy’s have possibly helped. Were also testing everyone that walks through the door.

It was being done at the beginning and there are no new drug therapies. If your talking about dexamethasone then any intensivist with half a brain was using this from day one.

The science, since you brought it up says the less infections, the less death. We all can agree that it doesn’t young people don’t die at a high rate as older people but, and this is what some here keep dodging. They spread it by not obeying the science. Which in turn effects others, which in turn could effect seniors. Being stupid by going out without science, then coming home to mom and dad and grandparents is just selfish. It’s the reason the numbers have skyrocketed in some places and it could be the reason that more people die.
I’ve been in the house for 2 months and I need a beer and no one is going to stop me is foolish and not caring for others.

I don’t work in NYC so I wouldn't know what they were doing back in March.

all those things are happening here, beaches are closed in some areas, south florida is still at phase 1, some things are even stricter here, mask are mandatory etc.
