I guess this is considered anecdotal but my good friend took a traveling nurse job up to NYC a month or so ago. So she’s been treating patients with covid-19 every day. They’ve been testing recovered (recovered is relative as some have permanent damage to the lungs, heart, brain, and kidneys) anyhow- they’ve been testing ‘not dead’ patients- for antibodies.... and the scary thing is- they’re coming up negative or low in antibodies 😱. Meaning they CAN possibly get it again!

My sister is a nurse medical practitioner and I’ve been following a lot of epidemiologists on social media - they are indeed saying that many people are not fighting off the virus in the traditional manner especially the young.

Their thoughts are that the older generation are showing high levels of antibodies and therefore are showing higher levels of possible immunity (for how long we don’t know) but young people are fighting it off using T cell responses - now the big thing is that this will not show up on an antibody test but it will possibly still give them immunity the same as an antibody (b cell) response

🤔🤔🤔 that’s cool! (As cool as healing from a deadly virus can be) very interesting! Thank you for the articles!

Just to be clear -

"The Deaths by Day chart shows the total number of Florida residents with confirmed COVID-19 that died on each calendar day (12:00 AM - 11:59 PM). Death data often has significant delays in reporting, so data within the past two weeks will be updated frequently."
Sure, that is correct but has nothing to do with what I said, I just stated currently it is the record low week over week for a Saturday since April. they have been back filling data all the time.

Why do Canadians come here to get elective surgery? There has to be a reason.
Why do people have to stay at the Grand Floridian instead of Wilderness Lodge or Port Orleans? I've got one in my family. The guidebooks said that the Grand was the flagship hotel at WDW, so only that would do.

Just because someone chooses Option B doesn't mean that Option A is a dysfunctional mess.

But one is free and the other isn’t? Why choose to pay if the other is equally as adequate?

I’ve read you post three times and I still don’t get it.

Because some people have it in their minds that if something is free then it must be inferior. So it's better to choose the one you pay for, or the one you pay more for.
I don’t know anyone that thinks that way. I’d only be willing to pay more for something comparable if I needed it sooner or if it was on back log.

Be thankful you don't. In Karen's world they are prominent. Thus all of Disney's recent upcharges for everything. Terrible parents who don't book BBB and a dessert party to experience WDW.

Don’t you think some people just like those things and can afford it. I wouldn’t pay for those because it’s not important to me, but I do have a collection of Disney Dooney and Burke purses I enjoy.

I’m glad we’ve been able to establish adequate judgement on the Canadian healthcare system from our message board epidemiologists. I had no idea the Canadian system was such a blight.

Need should come before socio-economic status. Public primary health surveillance improves not only the health of the nation, but saves money in the backend.

Patience over elective interventions is exactly what you make of it. But the privileged never see beyond their own world view.

Yes, the same as some people LIKE being able to say they went to the US for medical care. Same as some Americans like to say they got their medical care in Switzerland. Still not "proof" that doing so means that Canada's system is broken, as you implied in the original message I responded to

I never implied Canadians system was broken I know very little about their system. I just asked a simple question. So your saying Canadians come here for medical care as a status symbol.

Different people have different experiences.

Absolutely. If you have money and insurance, you will get a leg up. There is no debating that. Even if there is no meaningful improvement in outcomes.

The age old debate on equality versus privilege.

It's more important to consider the whole as opposed to the outliers though in these types of discussions. Third party anecdotes from retiree snowbirds are just that. High SES. All of which is to say the Canadian medical system doesn't really pertain to how the US is managing COVID and its impacts on WDW.
