I will be anxious to see if this leads to increased mortality. Sending my prayers right now. What specifically happened in Florida that didn't happen anywhere else on this level? And I would love some data, not just the assumption that it's all bar hopping. People keep saying young people at bars but bars are open in other states. Did the north slow testing? My friend in NYC says people haven't been social distancing even before the protests. It's strange to me that most other states aren't encountering this. Vermont had an increase and they are still fairly locked down. But not NYC? It's more than a little mind blowing.

It's on its way to happening in Texas and Arizona, too. They reopened too fast. It became a political issue where a lot of people didn't think twice about crowding in crowded bars or restaurants. Then you add in the sweltering heat + humidity and most people stay inside instead of congregating outside.

I was happy to see the pics of the monorails running and the new social distancing in the cars, make riding the monorail much more pleasant like the buses, wish they would keep that permanent

Yes, most of the social distancing is actually a breath of fresh air. I know it obviously can't be as nice once capacity is back to normal but I hope people are at least a little more aware of themselves moving forward. It shouldn't be that hard to not bump into the person infront of you in line 10 times or be so close that you're stepping on their shoes.

In an effort to get this back to theme parks just a little bit, Universal has actually extended their operating hours by an additional hour moving park close to 7 for weekends through July.
Most people on this thread don’t want WDW to open. Trying to redirect the thread to WDW will lead you right back to Corona virus. There is another thread on WDW opening that does a better job of staying on topic.... well until someone posts there to tell us we’re all murderers for not staying home.... joking of course.

Interesting, the way this reads if you are tested positive multiple times on different days it is counted as a new positive test, from the Florida doh site. If so that would kinda skew the percent positive and positive case numbers

Also from the FDOH data file.

I guess this is considered anecdotal but my good friend took a traveling nurse job up to NYC a month or so ago. So she’s been treating patients with covid-19 every day. They’ve been testing recovered (recovered is relative as some have permanent damage to the lungs, heart, brain, and kidneys) anyhow- they’ve been testing ‘not dead’ patients- for antibodies.... and the scary thing is- they’re coming up negative or low in antibodies 😱. Meaning they CAN possibly get it again!

Canada is doing fine and is not mandating masks. Never said we shouldn’t do mitigation to get open, just questioning some of the rules, maybe masks , 6 ft Foot aren’t really making a difference and what are they really based on. Might work might not, sure use whatever tool you have. not saying don’t wear a mask.
They’ve also been staying home for months and months and months. They don’t have this insane ‘get back to work’ mentality and their government provided them with the resources and money to stay home safely.

That’s actually not what that means. Stop spreading misinformation.

Not as MANY times! Reduce the points of contact and you are safer. If you want to slow the spike stay at home. Simple but you seem to want to push your agenda no matter how many people show that you are slanted in your view.
Maybe some of us don't want to spend our lives isolated in our homes posting charts and graphs and telling other people how to live their lives.
If this virus is still around a year from now or two years from now? Are you still going to be sitting at home?
Agendas are only OK when it's theirs! He definitely has one but don't you dare.

Also- not anecdotal- when I was pregnant they told me I no longer had antibodies to rubella... my immunity had worn off... so I was susceptible to rubella... no antibodies = no immunity

The spike seemed to coincide with the protests not with reopening.

Well if you want to pay the tax rate they pay than I am sure America could/would do the same and don't give me that tired narrative that a wealthy few Americans should/could bare the brunt of taking care the rest of us!

Canada’s population is less than the state of California.
