Local news story on it:https://www.freep.com/story/news/lo...lansing-coronavirus-grosse-pointe/3268551001/

Covid is very contagious. Even people who were not at the party or bar caught it. Like this girl who was at a bonfire with someone who had it from friends who were at the bar (and then probably infected her whole family too):

According to the mother, who requested anonymity to protect her family's privacy, her daughter did not go to Harper's or the party in Grosse Pointe Woods, but rather became infected after attending a bonfire with friends who had been exposed to the students who had gone to Harper's. Now her whole family is in quarantine, and she's worried, anxious and scared.

"It’s everywhere — and I get that. And perhaps she shouldn’t (have gone) to a bonfire," the mother said. "So now we wait for our test results and pray ... Praying is all we have."
This mother is over the top dramatic and if she were so afraid of the virus she should have kept her kid home and not let her attend the party! Praying isn't all we have !We have masks, social distancing, hand sanitizer and most importantly the choice not to attend parties where the first 2 aren't being followed. God can't help us if we refuse to help ourselves!

Also- not anecdotal- when I was pregnant they told me I no longer had antibodies to rubella... my immunity had worn off... so I was susceptible to rubella... no antibodies = no immunity
Well that is still technically anecdotal but I do believe you

Well if you want to pay the tax rate they pay than I am sure America could/would do the same and don't give me that tired narrative that a wealthy few Americans should/could bare the brunt of taking care the rest of us!
I’d love to pay a bit more for better healthcare and being able to stay home for the health of my family! And don’t give me that tired/narrative ‘Canada has to wait a long time for healthcare’ I have family and friends who live there and they paint a VERY different picture 😘

Wasn't going to but I live by the border and have met several Canadians with supplemental insurance in our doctors office for various reason. I also guess you missed the post about Canada's population in comparison to California. We should try it out on California first and if it works ..............................

The economies in the EU are tied to one another. It would be like one state staying open and the rest closing and expecting the economy of that one state to thrive.
Since we can't turn back time and have a redo we will never know.

They're not that connected, otherwise how could it ever have been that some countries were struggling economically (Greece) while others were doing very well (Germany).

In the same way, California's economy didn't tank when the East Coast was hit by Sandy.

So... good try at throwing doubt on the data coming out of Sweden and blaming Sweden's issues on the whole of the EU.

This is nothing like a hurricane. It affected the whole world. Really, really bad comparison. Even countries that weren’t hit by the virus are going to be devastated by lack of tourism. Haven’t you ever heard the the phrase when America sneezes the rest of the world gets the flu.

The point you made is to deflect from how poorly Sweden is doing from their tactics by blaming something else. Meanwhile, other countries in the EU are doing well even though they have the same "being in the EU" problem that Sweden has.

Deflection tactic: failed.

never made that claim , just showing that Florida DOH says they are double counting new positive case. BTW good news todays Florida reported deaths Is the lowest Saturday death total week over week since April. A record low since April

Just to be clear -

"The Deaths by Day chart shows the total number of Florida residents with confirmed COVID-19 that died on each calendar day (12:00 AM - 11:59 PM). Death data often has significant delays in reporting, so data within the past two weeks will be updated frequently."
