Masks aren't the solution, they are part of it, that is fact. Had Covid not existed, those with underlying conditions wouldn't have died, so while not a direct covid death, covid is the reason for the death. Make sense?

No, but all it did was speed up their death by a year or two. Now, for them, is that a big deal, sure. But this isn’t a plague going through and killing people indiscriminately. And as the report states, the secondary deaths are massive, and 100% from Covid, and the vast majority are people who are young, and not well past average life expectancy.

Not really. Still plenty of capacity restrictions in place.
I think it’s all about tone from the top. People see the government at the local and now state level requiring masks and calling this a pause makes people realize they need to start taking this more seriously. I still think the majority of people want to follow the rules but if the tone from the top isn’t strong it’s easy to ignore some.

Come on now, if you have asthma, you aren't dying in a year or two. :banghead:

Especially coming from abbott.

*don't mean for this to be political, but Abbott has been one of the governors seriously advocating for reopening, so the flip is quite alarming.

I guess this is one of those fact checked articles? Incredible that they have mask wearing % data, proper wearing data, etc. Especially since regardless of everything else, the vast majority of cases and deaths are of old people that aren’t out and about anyway.

This report is junk.
Yes. It's a peer reviewed study.

Feel free to review it yourself: https://www.healthaffairs.org/doi/1...y&utm_campaign=covidfasttrack&utm_content=lyu

All their data and methods are layed out.

The concern, in my mind anyway, is that guests aren't teleporting into the Disney bubble, spending their whole trip inside that "bubble", and then magically back in the safety of their homes.

What are you talking about! I always use my teleportation device to get there. I keep it in the attic so I don't even have to leave the house.

What are you talking about? I said the exact opposite of that. I said they won’t have people following guests around looking for offenders. If a CM sees someone without a mask it will be fairly obvious.

It’s EXACTLY what you said

“For example, a CM at the carousel sees a guy turn the corner where Philharmagic is with no mask on holding a Starbucks cup. If he gets past the carousel without taking any sips the CM should step in and ask him to put the mask on.”

Wow, that is a huge spike in testing. Is that just people getting the message that cases are spreading in Florida? Or is that a targeted test of a certain segment?

Glad to see cases go down slightly with the large # of tests instead of up.

It's a mixture of both. Some areas, such as prisons, jails, detention centers, farms, low income housing, etc have had crews come in and actually do 100% testing. These are areas with high density occupation which is a risk factor, just like nursing homes. But the population is generally younger. Other areas have had an increase of people who just want to be sure they don't have it, due to reports of asymptomatic cases.

As they suspend non-essential surgeries, hospitals cut back on staffing. So now you'll have more people out of work. People just couldn't be bothered to think of others. Ugh.

Bingo - a renewed push to indefinitely postpone all elective procedures is a big highlight here, and all the implications that come with it.

You know what's funny?

I imagine they believe the benefits of suspension outweigh the consequences.

You are delusional. Besides coming in this or other threads every few weeks and attacking anything I post you also seem to lack the ability to comprehend the English language. How does what I said have anything to do with spotters with radios?

When a CM who is doing their job (whatever that job is) sees someone without a mask they can and will ask them to put the mask on. It’s no different than someone smoking or not wearing a shirt or shoes.

You do realize that scenario is ridiculous, right? So Disney will have spotters with radios. “Human (you can’t assign a gender or skin color for obvious reasons) in red shirt and blue pants holding Coke cup didn’t take a drink for 15 paces in front of Peter Pan... GET HIM!”

the thing people don't realize about Disney is that you're being watched, EVERYWHERE.
