Hopefully the number who want a test but can’t get one is approaching zero. It has to be for re-opening to work. Having a very low positive percentage is a good sign that it probably is.Where I live (Panhandle), you can drive up and get tested, no questions asked. No issues for people to get tested here. Not possible to increase tests performed if the demand isn't there. I don't know how many people want a test in Florida and can't get one, but the reported results are definitely good news. We need the results to continue trending in a positive direction however, especially since we just entered Phase 1 yesterday. Next couple of weeks will be more telling.
I think it will take a little longer than a week or two before we will know if there is any spike from re-opening things. Probably closer to a month. That’s a really crucial time where testing needs to be widely available and contact tracing needs to be in place to avoid a hot spot or outbreak.
