"Now that you have seen progress in action you now get a chance to create it yourself. Just start by answering this question: What do you care most about? A. Touch Screens, B. Famous Voice Overs with Bad Scripts or, C. Fantasyland East."

No, this is the one that should go first (just substitute it with DVDs) since at least car phones were once common as was the term but laserdiscs never became popular at all. Grandpa shouldn't even know the word's existence. I thought I was the only one to catch that a few years ago. As for Grandma, her voice is the same person who used to be Judy Jetson in the original series. She once lusted after pop sensation Jet Screamer so it's absolutely right that she would still be hip.

Ha I remember that episode
EEEP OP ORK AH AH!

Heh. I just couldn't get rid of it. I was so impressed with it when I got it. You could even get a battery pack and carry it around. The case had a shoulder strap.

It's a good thing to do. My first hand-me-down digital camera was laying around meaningless, and got a surprise when I was watching Modern Marvels 90's tech, and they showed it and said that it's the FIRST digital camera to EVER have an LCD display screen!

It's still laying around, but it's the thought that counts.

So, am I the only one too cynical about our current times to take COP seriously anymore? I think the world's current state is a major reason why no one rides it anymore. People just aren't quite as optimistic as they were back in 1964

YEP I can relate. I have a Sony digital camera that recorded on a FLOPPY.:lol::lol: And I still have it.

I have a ton of video of Tom playing in his band on floppys....just the first solo of Crossroads completely filled up 2 of those floppys. Isn't that crazy? :lookaroun

I am a retro computing person/geek so that's kind of right up my alley. :D

My parents had one of those back in...I guess...1991. They only used it once.

This was from 1994....? I am pretty sure. This is an oldie.... My husband keeps wanting to throw it out, but I can't let that happen. I keep it in a box in the closet.

NO! Don't throw it out. Disney may need to use it to update the ending. They could actually show one of these futuristic devices in the ending, that is if you are willing to part with yours.:ROFLOL:

Funny side story-
When I was around 15 one of my friend's was forced, by his parents, to carry one of those car phones around at a birthday party and the car adapter cable kept falling out and dragging where ever he went. It was so funny!

I carried the one I pictured here shooting on an archery range in the woods all the time. The old analogs got much better reception and I stayed with that one way after the digital phones came out. I don't know if that one would even work on the networks now-a-days, though.

It only cost, oh, what... about $50 to make a five minute phone call??

When I first started working for BellSouth Mobility in late 1995, the hottest plan was $45 for 45 minutes A MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!! I know there are some days now where I use 45 minutes in one day.

I remember how hard it was to program one of those phones. It took at least five minutes to go through all the programming, and that's if you were fast.

yeah, but back then I used to turn the phone on to make a call and then turn it right back off again. No one called me on that line very often.
