Construction on Bonnet Creek Parkway

I figured it was utility work for 4S hotel/ts. Is there a demand for this? The kennels on property are they always full?

I was hoping it was just minor prep work for Four Seasons when I drove by a few weeks ago.

I hate the idea that more of the greenbelt that defined WDW for decades is getting plowed under.

Mousecasprawl is ugly and unmagical.

And while I love pets, I really wonder if they couldn't have used land that already has been developed and is just sitting.

Like maybe TSFKaPI ... or Flamingos Wouldn'e Be Caught Dead Here Crossings!

It is very disappointing. The Port Orleans/Wilderness resort area is the most beautiful on property IMO.

Yep. And it's pretty much going to be all gone. Just a few green buffers between properties.

makes me almost want to :cry::cry: ... and so much wildlife is getting displaced and killed.

I have never in all my years of visiting WDW seen so many deer, otters, turkeys, herons and even gators as I did when I was there in December. I am pretty damn sure it's because their habitats are being bulldozed.

It's just sickening.

I keep hearing Walt 'Here in Florida we have the blessing of size ... we have enough land for all the timeshares, third-party casual dining locations and traffic/bus clogged asphault as we can possibly imagine.''

Oh yeah ... the dream lives!

So this is across the street from POR right? When we were there in Sept we noticed them clearing some property too, but it was when you pull out of POR & turn right & at the stop sign turn left like the buses go to MK. It was close to Fort Wilderness, but just before it on the right. Does anyone know what that is going to be?

You saw the edge of the Four Seasons resort and timeshare development.

This is going to be Best Friends that will be the new kennel. Best friends is where my Dog stays at in Southern New Jersey when the DWF and I go on vacation. They are a great facility for dogs and cats and at least my branch the staff really cares about the animals. They also will have a grooming staff that will wash and groom your dog and have your pet ready to go when the day you return to pick them up. They have various packages for your pets and the one I take advantage of is the 1 hour a day play session where dogs are allowed to play and interact under supervision together. Any aggression from any dog does result in that dog being omitted from and further play sessions, also in the package my dog is given a smokey treat each day. Now they take pictures of your pet a few times during there stay and send them via E-mail to you. They also provide you with a report card on your dogs behaviour on a daily basis that will be given to you when you pick them up. They also encourage that you call each day to check on how your dog is doing which the DWF and I do normallly. Now Best Friends are taking over the existing kennels and these will be closed when the new kennel is built. I plan to board my dog there when I go to Disney this September providing the construction is completed. If not then the following year. Sorry for a long winded post but this kennel has been great to my dog and just wanted to share a little to the rest of you who might be interested in there services. We drive down to Disney and have found a lot of very nice and clean Hotels that do allow us to have our dog in the room over night for an additonal fee. Generally around $10.00 dollars more.

On an aside, I did notice that stretch of BCP - between POR and Vista - has LED streetlights as some sort of test. Totally unrelated I know.

Yes they do, good eye Martin. I'm hoping they expand the LED streetlights as planned beyond the test sites......... :D

Walt would have said "Here in Florida we have the blessing of size....we are going to strip most of the land and build a city and airport once I get the cash from more films. Screw the wildlife and greenery I didn't buy all this land not to cover huge parts of it with money making enterprises."
