Constant Fast Pass

I probably should know this as Disney nut, but I don't...at least not fully.

What is the piece of paper some guests present at the fast pass line instead of presenting a fast pass? I notice a few people show something, walk through, show it again, and get on the ride. They have it at all times and it is never collected.

Is this some AAA deal (I read that somewhere) or company sponsored pass for VIP guests? Do you pay for it?

Can I get it? :)

Thanks...

Guest Assistance Card is my guess. Give me some more information on what it looks like.

Sometimes guests are given Priority Entrance passes, too (look like a big yellow ticket), to make up for something or for other reasons. Those are supposed to be one use, but I have heard of them not being collected, I have seen some that specifically say all day (rare), and I have even had guests who thought they weren't supposed to be collected and put up a fight.

It's probably the Guest Assistance Card (GAC). They provide them to people at Guest Relations who have some sort of medical (or other) need to avoid waiting in lines. My friend's son is autistic and they got one for him when they went since he physically could not wait over 10-15 minutes in line. I'm not sure the specific reasons they are given out, but it is typically for people that need special assistance of some sort.

Hmm, this was definitely not yellow. And I've heard of and seen those. This was pink and white, about 3X5. The guy was with his wife and 2 young children. Didn't look like any special assistance or consideration was needed.

Careful. Not everyone who needs or requires special assistance "looks" like they need it. There are a number of very legitimate reasons that people would need such assistance that you can't "see."

Let's not get into a moral debate. I'm not looking for coaching on something obvious. I'm simply stating that if things were perfectly normal, would there be any type of pass available to guests to circumvent fast pass? Besides GAC of course.

No problem. "How did they do that" is a frequent question.
I almost asked the dude, but in the back of my mind, I thought...perhaps his kids have some kind of issue. THAT'S why I didn't!

I do think there's a posibility he was with Siemens, Kodak, or other sponsor and it could have been a special corporate pass. Maybe?

I'm not trying to get into a "moral debate." But you said, "it didn't look like any special assistance or consideration was needed" and I was merely pointing out that what you see actually means nothing.

I don't believe there is a corporate pass. The only thing like that would be if you are an employee of the company that sponsors an attraction, they have a special entrance. That usually is separate from the normal entrance.

There is such a pass that allows unlimited use of FastPass entrances all day that is issued through the Government relations department.

Yeah, don't ask them. Ask a CM.

I've never seen anything like that in a guest's hands. In that situation, they'd be with a VIP guide.

You mean like when the family gets a pass for dear old grandma, and then grandma sits and enjoys a coffee while dad + kids use her pass to ride Rock 'n' Roller Coaster over and over and over?

(I'm not against the passes, but I am against the fact that there is no real way to ensure that the intended person is using the pass at least.)

To be clear, it is not a Fastpass nor should ever be viewed as one.

The card you speak of is a Guest Assistance Card, it is for those who need special assistance or consideration that may or may not be easily seen or detected. The card features different options based on the needs of the guest.

In some situations, the guest may only need a shaded area to wait rather than one in the sun. Obviously, this does not grant them any special treatment on a ride such as Soarin. Some show that a stroller can be used as a wheelchair. Some show that an alternate entrance is needed. These situations may be for those who need their wait times to be expedited due to certain conditions. There are other cases too I believe.

The two assumptions guests who do not need them usually make is that 1) they will serve as a Fastpass or 2) they rented a wheelchair or an electric scooter. With the second, many people even in wheelchair with disabilities will come to find out is that many attraction queues are wheelchair accessible and if not, they may be required to wait the time period listed on the wait sign. Depending on the attraction that could be in an actual line or that could be being given a written time to come back (sort of acting like a Fastpass).

It is also important to note that Guest Assistance Cards are date specific and usually contain a party number (numbers exceeding the party number may not be admitted). Guests who abuse the cards by faking them, using expired ones, or using them without the guest who needed it can also result in them being confiscated.

Apparently, the Disneyland Resort discontinued the issuance of Guest Assistance Cards due to their abuse by guests who didn't need them.

So, if you do need a Guest Assistance Card, visit Guest Relations at the theme park. They will determine if you need one or not based on certain criteria and on a case by case basis. If you do not need one, please do not try obtain one by being deceptive or abusive. There are other ways to avoid long lines by using Fastpass wisely and planning your visit carefully.

When my sister chaperoned my neice's band trip to WDW, she got a GAC because she can't do stairs (bad knees). Well, she can do them, but it takes her a while going one step at a time.

It was simply the "Alternate Entrance" GAC. While most attractions she was fine going through the regular queue, there were a few places that were different. For example at Space Mountain, she and the few kids she was with were put through the FastPass line because the Standby line has stairs.

These passes really need to be better regulated. Often times, there are more groups in the Fastpass line using these passes than there are guests actually holding Fastpass tickets. I know some people need them but surely not THIS many. Plus, like I said before, theres almost no way to regulate who the card is actually for and if they are actually the one using it.

On a recent trip, a group of 8-10 teenage girls came through all wearing matching shirts of some sort, (looked like cheerleader team/group) and one of them asked "Who has the fastpass?" They then all dug in their pockets until one found a GAC card, and then skipped on through the line. Not saying that someone in their group doesn't have a valid need, but it looked awfully suspicious.

This past summer I got some 'evil' stares from people when I used my GAC. Like some have said, people should not judge as somethings can not fully be seen. I went to town hall just to see if I could get something (was not expecting an alternate entrance one) because I had foot surgery a few weeks before the trips and although it looked like I just had a soft cast on, if someone had even bumped my foot it would have bumped the pins in more and 'ruined' my foot. So, in some cases you just get lucky, have a nice cast member and they give you an alternate entrance one no matter what.
