Concepts for DCA coming to WDW?

You would think after all this time building parks that they would realize that if they cut corners and cut budgets it will come back and bite them in the butt. Think of the money they lost on the half-built parks like DCA and AK. Just let the dreamers do build it and we will come.

Unfortunately it seems like lately the idea has been, "Build it for as cheap as we can, the people will come either way."

You hit the nail on the head with that one.

LaughingPlace has additional pictures and video.

Also, for those who asked about Cars Land fitting in with the California theme:

Blending the legendary adventure and excitement of Route 66, California's love of cars, and Walt Disney's legacy of innovative storytelling, Cars Land recreates the memorable town of Radiator Springs, just as it appeared in the Disney-Pixar animated film, Cars.

Route 66 was once the only auto route connecting Windy Chicago to sunny Los Angeles. It represented the freedom of the open road, the migration west, and the dream of a brighter tomorrow in the Golden State for thousands of new arrivals to California. That dream revs back to life in Cars Land.

Yea because EE, Mission Space, and TSMM are aweful. Not to mention our Haunted Mansion! I can't believe most people say it's superior to Disneylands!

Seriously, give any Imagineer 1.5 billion and they could do great things. Don't blame the painters for not creating a masterpiece when they are only given finger paint.
There are exceptions. But lets take a look at the Seas with Nemo and Friends, Gran Fiesta Tour' MILF' SGE and the new ending to SSE.

There are exceptions. But lets take a look at the Seas with Nemo and Friends, Gran Fiesta Tour' MILF' SGE and the new ending to SSE.

A) What did you expect from Nemo? It was shoe horned into an existing ride track, and I think the ride was admirably done for what they had to work with. Plus the queue is one of the best at WDW. And also Disneyland is jealous of how our effects show up compared to theirs. Definitely not a failure.

B)Gran Fiesta Tour is fun. And honestly what else could they have done with it?

C) While Monster's INC doesn't fit thematically with Tomorrowland, it is an awesome attraction. I saw it quite often during my College Program, and people always left with a smile on their face.

D)SGE was a failure, but I blame that on executives more than Imagineers.

E)SSE was a casualty of budgets, and it isn't done. I know the guys who designed it, and they'll come through.

Again, most of these are casualties to Imagineers being shoehorned into a small budget or an existing ride space. Let them build something new, and they'll blow you away.

Mission Space is the worst e-ticket disney hsa ever built. EE is alright but it ain't no splash mountain or journey to the center of the earth. TSMM ain't great and it was originally a DCA exclusive until Rasolu decided to clone it to generate some hype for WDW.

Something educational AND fun.

TSMM is quite possibly the most fun I've had on a ride in a long time, and our version is superior to DCAs.

EE may not be Splash of Journey, but it is still a fantastic attraction, and has all the markings of a true Disney great.

And I'd like to hear why MS is the worst E-ticket ever. :veryconfu

Personally I'll take fun minus the educational over the first ride, which was neither, and The Seas as a whole does a fine job of educating. But of course you can't JUST have fun in EPCOT Center.

And these are just your opinions, and Im pretty sure most people, not just us disney fans, will disagree on those.

If it's cars land im going to be disgusted

I disagree. If WDW got ANY form of Cars Land, I think it would be AWESOME. The concept art for it looks absolutely amazing, and if the Imagineers come anywhere CLOSE to recreating the town of Radiator Springs, I would get there in a heartbeat. Though I think they should have just called it Radiator Springs and not Cars Land.

I'm actually jealous we won't have that at WDW. I think it's a great idea.

I completely agree. It looks like it will be beautifully done, and Radiator Springs Racers looks like a tremendous Disney E-ticket.

How exactly is it superior? Because WDW's has a queue full of junk? DCA's is more classy and fits the victorian theme of the area and has a really nice ending (a victorian era version of andy's room with a small midway mania box on the floor). The theme of the ride actually makes sense because your playing carnival midway games with disney charecters in a land that is basically a boardwalk carnival that the disney charecters operate.

Sitting in a tiny sweatbox looking at a tiny video screen displaying poor grade CGI graphics while spinning around and getting shock up is not my idea of an exciting experince. On top of that, the ride really doesn't have a coherent theme or story, the attraction ends abruptly, and barebone theming throughout.

They may not be as thrilling but both Star Tours and the old Mission to Mars did a FAR better job of giving guests the illusion and thrill of going into outer space than mission space does.

The placement of TSM makes more sense in DCA (as stated earlier, it was originally planned for DCA and shoe-horned into DHS anyway), but their queue is super lame. All you have to look at is a few posters and a poorly-place Barker Potato Head (you're only in front of him for like a minute!). I did enjoy the miniature version at the end of the queue, though. I thought that was a GREAT touch.

I haven't actually been to the WDW version, but I've seen pictures of the queue and it looks amazing.

And I agree with SirGoofy. TSM is one of the most fun rides I've ever been on. The first time I rode it I was literally yelling and screaming and having a great time trying to beat my friend at all the games. I enjoy it a lot more than Buzz.

Yup give me a queue. A good queue enhances the experience for me.

Well I understand that you don't like MS, but that doesn't mean that it is the "worst E-ticket ever built." And the story is pretty straight forward. Your in a flight simulator training to fly to Mars. And again, this is just a matter of taste, but I think it's themed pretty well. I mean the "fake" control room actually houses some of the ride's controls.

I don't know how Mission to Mars even came close to simulating space flight, but to each their own.

Be careful about saying that. I just got finished with a very heated discussion regarding that very fact. Ironically, the shortened ride time gave us a shorter, sweeter Nemo that doesn't suffer from an overbloated ride "plot" that doesn't make any sense...kind of like our very own SGE!

True, but it's still dragging sloooooooooowly...
