Well TBH.. what Non-Pixar movie has done well for Disney outside of Frozen, Marvel and SW? Pixar has been the goto IP for many attractions and rightfully so. I would have no problem with Coco in the parks.
Lion king remake and the frist one ,B&B live action, zootopia, there are others too.

That image on the screen shows a very Dia De Los Muertos style skull. Could this be for a Coco ride? Is this the black box ride? What do you guys think of it?

Here's a photo from Coco with the same skull.

Another photo from the Marigold Grand Central Station that seems to closely match what is on the screen.

Don't think we ever heard from @marni1971 on this. Any idea what this might be for? Perhaps Coco in Epcot isn't out of the realm of possibility yet?

It doesn't need to be... Was Song Of The South popular enough for an E Ticket ride? Heck No...but it makes a fantastic experience... Coco is a perfect fit for World Showcase, and a great way to bring more attention to the film in perpetuity. It was a very good film that got lost in the shuffle...

I agree with this. I would say Coco's popularity is on par with Ratatouille's. If it works, it works.

The thing is that The Walt Disney Company has changed a lot. They're really trying to get as much money as possible by remaking movies or sequels. The same goes for the parks, they rather want to place a 'bigger' franchise in the parks, because coco isn't one of pixar's most populair movies. If they're going to build it, I would expect it to see it going to DCA or Paris, since they had the chance to build it with the epcot overhaul, but they didn't.
(That's what I think, it is probably wrong tho)

I think you’re realistically correct.

I feel though it would be in their best interest to invest in medium properties. A quality ride would only elevate the long term response to the IP, instead of letting it die quietly.

But Disney can’t see past the next few quarters. I don’t expect any of Bob and Bob’s decisions to be long term.

I understand this but find it to be short-sighted and sad...

I agree with the posters above, Coco would make a solid addition to the Mexico pavilion. Ratatouille was a moderate success for Pixar and its getting an attraction. Not sure why Coco can't do the same. I for one feel all the WS pavilions need a ride of some sort and if an IP is involved at least fit thematically. Tangled could be added to a Rhine River Cruise in Germany. The same for Mulan for a China attraction. Here's hoping Mary Poppins is incorporated well and has an actual attraction (not a walk thru) in the UK pavilion.

The difference between rat and coco is that rat was being build in Paris. Since the movie is 59th biggest movie in France and it has bits of French culture. Epcot only is getting that ride, because they already have it somewhere, they just need to copy it.
Coco was also a pretty big succes, but maybe they're not sure if a lot of people are interested in a Coco ride. It is kinda hard to explain.
