Just a thought...I would move London a little closer in towards the castle and have the Fantasyland Village area and Forest outside the castle wall. Have the design of London be a mix of Pre-1600s fire and the Old City of London.

Maybe give the castle a bit of a classical/Boroque/kinda flair?

But high-key this thing looks amazing.

Interesting!

@kap91 @Brer Oswald -- thoughts on this? You both have been talking about the London area a bit:bookworm:

My only input on the London area is that for Peter Pan, I want the facade to transition from a London theme to Neverland.
That'd be a pretty neat transition based on your facade concept art! I could see that working well.
Perhaps it could shift to Wonderland as well from Neverland.

And I really like the idea of having London more with the castle, but I think by having it split into two different sides across a river connected by a bridge) would be cool too.

My vote for the castle is waiting upon @MA Screamin' :D

It appears like the castle will be Fantasia just based on the votes (unless a bunch of people come in against it in the next few days)

So assuming we are going this route -- I am curious how we will address the concern that @FigmentPigments brought up about the sightlines from entering the park.

One of the quells to that was to not have a Main Street at all, and have a makeshift Mickey Ave and Fantasia Gardens be the entrance...any thoughts on that?

Cinderella Castle pairs well with its look with Main Street.

Shanghai's Castle does the same for Gardens of Imagination, and to a lesser extent Mickey Avenue, but it loses the charm. I don't think a Toontown like entrance is going to work well for this design -- something more realistic is needed, but something different. I'll think about it.

Disneyland Paris' castle is romatisized beauty! But it also feels a sort of disconnect from Main Street with its whimsical look. Still, it works magically, but it may not work as well for our Fantasia Castle.

And I don't mean realistic as it has to be like World Showcase... I just mean it in terms of feel. Toontown, for instance, feels cartoonish while Hogsmeade feels real. Get what I'm saying?

So I hit a bump...

I envision our castle, let's call it the Hall of Fantasia or something better, to be a more effective use of space. I want it to be inspired primally by Shanghai and it's castle color palette while taking cues from more traditional German castles. I think it be interesting to see if we could do it expand horizontally as well as vertically, making for something comparable to the Hohenzollern Castle. Imagine stunning stain glass windows depicting famous scenes from the movies, and spectacular water fixtures. Step below the main hall to find Yen Sid's workshop, making for the most magical queue ever crafted, and we have been gifted with a chance to see Sorcerer Mickey and his apprentice Donald create some of the famous scenes.

I picture CircleVision of sorts, with Mickey and Donald interacting either as animation or animatronics or a blend of both. High-density projections give a vivid 3D effect without the need of quirky glasses, in addition to a near 360-degree "Fantasound" really will bring together what Walt really wanted with Fantasia. Maybe we could right some new scenes, to be presented in a randomized manner, to be included to.

Where we go from there is up to you guys, I'd wanna stretch our mouse ears as far as possible and incorporate a never-before-seen "film to ride" ride system.

I'm having trouble coming together with a cohesive design for the castle itself, but I have the ambition, and hopefully we come together and figure this grand 'ol thing out as a team! I'd never be more grateful in an Imagineering sense, maybe even general sense, if we could fight through this!

Thoughts?

I really like it. I wonder if we could make the castle on a hill. On one side could be the start to a Fantasia Sub-land, and the other Villian land.

I like the idea of a relatively normal Main Street (perhaps finally adding Edison square though) but the hub is heavily forested and full of gardens and blends into the Fantasia castle.

Also the idea for the Fantasia attraction sounds good - just what do you consider a high density projection? Like multiple screens layered in front of each other? The most I've ever seen this done with is two screens (finding nemo, test track(though that's not a projection) and I'd admit it would be pretty cool with more layers but I'm not sure it's technically feasible as each layer of screen effectively will dim everything behind it to exponential effect. Might work with musion film though....don't know If anyone has tried.

Random aside - speaking of infeasible technology. USC has an actual "hologram" tech they've been working on. It's basically a spinning mirror/screen and a projextor/display rig that displays each appropriate angle in sync with the spinning of the screen. Because the mirror turns so fast you can't really see it and instead you're just left with the images that you can view from any direction giving the appearance of a 3D object.

Can't wait until that gets more refined.
