Question to the group: what about any Disney castle do you find impressive? Trying to pull together a vision board first, because I'm such a poor sketcher.
The sheer elegance and sleekness of design at WDW. It's majestic without going overboard by being too big, gaudy, and overpowering.

Also, what I like about Disneyland Paris, the castle seems to be built into the land and not just set down at the edge of a concrete circle.

YES! That is a really cool aspect of Paris' castle! I also agree about Cinderella Castle.

Disneyland Paris is definitely up there for me... I do think Shanghai's tiers are interesting...

The tiers on Shanghai's Castle aren't all the same style... Makes it look more unique.

I love how Disneyland Paris' castle has a naturalistic touch with the hills on the side, :) it really levels out the castle's giant architecture.

Plus, the rockwork of the hill really shows similarity to Sleepy Beauty artwork from the movie, so it just backs up that this is Sleeping Beauty's Castle. It's a small thing that really adds up.

Forced perspective and a feeling of peace. It might be simply from it being a Disney Park but I never feel like I'm truly in Disney World or Disneyland until I see the castle. It's like a homing signal that you're in a place of relaxation and calm.

That is until you get run over by a stroller...a screaming kid drops a mickey bar on your foot, a scooter beeps at you to walk faster, and you're surrounded by a mob of Brazilian tourists.

But for that brief second of peace it is worth it!:hilarious:

Btw, maybe we could theme the hub to Fantasia gardens in which a few spinners, shops, restaurants, a greek amphitheatre show and a slow boat ride similar to the swan boats and voyage to the crystal grotto but with Fantasia dioramas. Like i think that would be a cool transition from our main street area to the castle.

Wish there was a way to have upper levels of any of the castles to relax :hilarious: It'd be awesome to have some chairs in quiet indoor/outdoor areas to just look over the park and chill. :D Kinda get some peace in a park similar to the relaxation at the Grand Floridian or something.

Ya'll Shanghai's castle is my favorite. This picture in particular just makes me fall in love with it. Reminds me of an early Disney World Castle painting:

Here is the Cinderella castle painting I've always loved:

Now what is going to be really interesting, if they pull it off, is Hong Kong's castle expansion. Personally, it's a bit much for me:

There's benches on the 2nd floor of the main street station -- that's the only hope haha

Eh, yeah it's a little much..... Little too much gold for me personally. :bookworm:
Honestly...everything in China is a little much for me.

I read recently that HKDL is actually struggling a bit and not reaching its mark. Apparently its put the expansion on hold. Disney only holds a 45% interest or so in the park and the Chinese government is getting iffy.

But I apologize for spamming y'all with so much concept art, but hey when Sam goes away he brings back eye candy for everyone.

Haha you're good - glad to see you back!

I don't know how far back you've looked in the thread - but if you wanna help us out we are designing a new Fantasyland in a yet to be placed Disney park

Here's what we have so far -- any comments/feedback please add them! And if you wanna help out in any way feel free to!

To keep this short and sweet, the main takeaways from today are:
- The map above is a pretty solid representation of what the eventual land will look like (give or take a few adjustments)
- @LSCreative has started on his Theater show -- and posted a section of it, with some 3D rendering to come!
- @Skipper of the SEA has stepped up with some interest in Mr. Toad! So over the next few days we can talk about some ideas for that attraction.
- Brainstorming is still going strong in both the Villains Mini-land and BatB threads -- with the attractions coming together and getting more people involved in the discussion.
