Just curious -- do we have any idea what the Fantasia Castle is going to look like? Or what it's being inspired by? @MA Screamin'

https://ohmy.disney.com/insider/2015/01/26/quiz-name-that-disney-castle/More than what @kap91 and I discussed in the thread, no. A lot of things need to still happen over there, but I've been hesitant, because of time constraints. You seeing anything in your mind that you'd wanna share?
Honestly, I don't know what everyone is thinking with Discovery Cove, but I always thought it would be geared towards the greatest thinkers, dreamers, and visionaries. This is a world where men plunge to the deepest parts of the ocean to live, put together legendary crew to search for the lost city following only a book and a desire to know, delve into the darkest parts of the earth, and strive to shoot to the stars. The emphasis would be on exploration and different ideas of the future. I wouldn't mind having a Timekeeper type attraction as well. Space Mountain could possibly go here as well, maybe???Another thing I wanna bring up that we should begin to dream up Discovery Cove and Storybook Circus to see if our balance will continue upon their additions. I know I wanna to revive a dark ride concept I made for a comp. with @Sam4D23, @Matt7187, and @jdmdisney99 years ago, where Mickey and the Fab Five star in a circus show that keeps going wrong, only when Huey, Dewey, and Louie come to save the day at the end. Anyone have any ideas for those lands? @FigmentPigments, I know you had some ideas behind Discovery Cove

I also would like @MCParradox 's idea for transportation here.
Ideally, I would like this land to be very hands on giving the guests an opportunity to "build" something.
Thoughts??
Not problem! We'll talk more tomorrow. I have a vague idea for the Atlantis attraction and I hope that Treasure Planet will make its home here as well. Both are under appreciated movies so I'm excited to see them come to this park.I heard mention of Treasure Island and Atlantis. I've never seen either, so I can't give ideas for experiences. But I like that! My brain is fried from a tough day, so I'll have more to say tomorrow.
So I just finished FantasiaMore than what @kap91 and I discussed in the thread, no. A lot of things need to still happen over there, but I've been hesitant, because of time constraints. You seeing anything in your mind that you'd wanna share?
Honestly, that's the only reason I didn't vote for a Fantasia castle. I just couldn't see how we would get a castle from it.So I just finished Fantasia
1) I can't believe this was made in 1940
2) I really can't see a castle being made out of this film -- there really isn't much to pull from -- but the visuals can make a great park icon
The Pastoral Symphony would be my idea for it -- making a more naturalistic transition from the ring and spoke design @Imagineerland suggested, rather than a traditional hub and spoke -- with Main Street and a Castle.
The entrance could be more of Fantasia Gardens, with the mountain being the icon that drives you inside. Thoughts?
I watched all 2 hours and 4 mins and was waiting for me to forget something in the film that would make a great castle...but a castle never appeared in the film. I guess we could get creative with it but at that point we'd just be having a castle for the sake of a castle, where it's easier to pull from an IP that actually is castle based.Honestly, that's the only reason I didn't vote for a Fantasia castle. Yes, just because you and I can't see a castle doesn't mean it's a bad idea or that it shouldn't be done. Like you, maybe I'm not thinking outside of the box enough.I watched all 2 hours and 4 mins and was waiting for me to forget something in the film that would make a great castle...but a castle never appeared in the film. Maybe watching 2000 there will be more inspiration -- or someone has a brilliant idea to integrate it -- maybe I'm just not thinking outside the box enough
Yeah very true! Would love to hear more about it (and now that I've recently seen the film I can talk about it a little more)Yes, just because you and I can't see a castle doesn't mean it's a bad idea or that it shouldn't be done. Like you, maybe I'm not thinking outside of the box enough.
I don't think 2000 will help in this regard. It's good but no castles.
I have a built in vcr in my CRT TV. As for the castle, I suggest we just come up with an original design and theme the inside to Fantasia. Sleeping beauty castle isn't based on the architecture from the castle in the film.I still have my VHS of Fantasia too -- now if only they still made VCRs
We could I'm just wondering what to be inspired by. Sleeping Beauty was easier in that the original tale dates back to medieval times, so castles were more prevalent back then -- maybe something with Sorcerer Mickey like I was saying earlier? The Wizard's castle? Wizards are medieval conceptsI have a built in vcr in my CRT TV. As for the castle, I suggest we just come up with an original design and theme the inside to Fantasia. A grand wizards castle is probably the best direction to go in.We could I'm just wondering what to be inspired by. I'm only asking because before I head to bed I wanted to try and create a Fantasyland "skyline" art piece, with Bald Mountain, Frozen, and the main castle, but I didn't know the direction we wanted haha -- I'll sketch something up and see what we think!A grand wizards castle is probably the best direction to go in.
