“Pre-Show” / Load In Area -

Guests would start their experience in the outside holding area known as the “Village Square” whilst in this area, guests will have a chance to purchase show specific merchandise, as well as speciality food and beverage offerings. There are plenty of areas for guests to sit and relax whilst they wait to enter the amphitheatre. All surrounding buildings will be themed and styled to match the surrounding Fantasyland Area.

Guests views of the stage will be blocked by large castle walls, these will provide a great place to hide all of the technical control elements, as well as stage lighting and follow spots. 15mins before show time, the “gate keeper” will announce that the entry into the amphitheatre is now open.

Stage and Amphitheatre -

The amphitheatre itself is a combination of indoors and outdoors, the stage and all backstage areas will be housed in a large building, whereas the seating will be open aired, protected from the elements by a large tent/shade sail structure.

The stage will be built up of a large rock face on the right hand side of the stage, this will include trees and a working waterfall (this hides a special effect element). The left hand side of the stage will be made up of more village buildings, with a fountain of sorts in the centre. The “backdrop” to the stage will be a large multi format, LED Screen that will seperate into two different pieces to allow large set elements to enter the stage. This standard set will mainly be used for the narration, guest interaction and dialogue scenes.

For all IP specific dance/song numbers, a large sets & curtains will be flown in from the roof to allow the stage to change scene to scene. For example, during the Beauty and the Beast number, a red curtain with large golden windows will fly in, changing the look from a village, to beasts ball room.

Featured IP’s -
Beauty and the Beast
Brave
The Little Mermaid
Tangled
The Princess and the Frog

I am still working on adding more and more elements to the show, as well as more featured IP’s. Ideally the show would run for around 30mins.

I’m soon going to begin the design of the 3D Model of the entire area.

Look forward to hearing all your thoughts.

Catching up on the recap and posts. I know the whole "peoplemover" idea has been bantered around quite a bit, and I like the idea of a non-IP. I had the idea while riding in to work today (and wasn't supposed to be reading posts) and think someone beat me to it earlier, but could the ride vehicle be some type of book or storybook themed? Not entirely sure how to pull that off at first thought, but just throwing it out there. So many of the IP's in FL are from old stories and I think it would be a nice simple way of tying it all together. The mover is a homage to where those IP's came from and each attraction you visit turns the page to a new story where you get a small glimpse of each.

Some of the ideas for elevated ride look really neat, but for me personally would take too much away from the aesthetics of where this land is going. With all of the sets, forests, etc. I think a ground based vehicle would work better that is more of a background piece as opposed to something that stands out front and center overhead. I would try and limit the outdoor portions as much as possible except in areas like an enchanted forest, edge of villains area, etc where it can be outside but still be slightly hidden from the park goers at large. You could still have it elevated in some areas to go over thoroughfares but with "flyover" built into the set building.

All that being said, many of you smarter than me have some pretty great ideas for it so if you can pull it off so it's a great fit.

I still like the idea of a "flying" peoplemover... just because it would be really visually engaging from both the perspective of a rider and those on the ground. It would be way cool for someone on the ground to see the vehicles move into, say, the back corner of the castle (where they might see something that otherwise you wouldn't be able to, like view a dragon or something) and then exit the castle at another point... I'd certainly want to check that out. And I'd think that there would be ways to creatively hide or minimize the supports, etc. Faux trees, ramparts, towers, all could be utilized. As far as the IP or non-IP of the conveyance... I'd go with non-IP, unless you made each sequence of vehicles a collection of IPs... like having a string of vehicles like Dumbo, Aladdin's Carpet, etc., with the last vehicle looking like a tiny version of the house from Up with a couple of balloons trailing.

Im wondering what we'd like to talk about next. Seems like we are on a good clip with the peoplemover ride...maybe talk about some of the other rides and how to differentiate them from past attractions?
For instance on another thread i think @Brer Oswald and @brb1006 were both talking about how cool a trackless LPS Alice dark ride would be.

Any thoughts on that being the Alice attraction? Or any other suggestions?

I was thinking that the trackless ride system would work due to the chaos of Wonderland. Add spinning tea cup vehicles, and you have one crazy and fun ride!

I know @kap91 had a version of an Alice ride as well. I personally want this land to be as immersive as possible. I have yet to see this done in any theme park, and there's so many visuals we could use.

Other than that I don't know if we all agreed on doing a little Mermaid section or not, or maybe the Snow White area. That seems like it should be high on the list as it seems we have have our castle be Snow White's castle. :bookworm:

Fantasyland - Club 32 - Recap 3/8/2017

Synopsis
The main goal of this project is to design a brand new Fantasyland for a yet to be named/located Magic Kingdom-style park. Starting from scratch with the land will allow us to use our creativity to the max -- and hopefully allow everyone to pursue their interests for inclusions in the land.

From Brainstorming:

Tuesday
1 - We've gone back and forth on various IPs and story-lines to settle into various "mini-lands" -- recreating the environments from classic Disney animated films and characters.
2 - We've also veered towards the exclusion of "it's a small world" from the land, citing World Showcase, monorail, or a World's Fair mini-land as possible areas for it down the road.

Wednesday
3 - @Brer Oswald drew a very rough sketch of a potential outline for the land
full

Some back and forth conversation has been had on the location/size of some of the attractions - but overall it is a great starting point!

4 - It also seems like for the Peoplemover attraction that @Imagineerland had originally proposed, is now being modified to be a non-IP, generic theme, so it can flow through the varying themes without altering too much of the respective areas or being so contrasting that it ruins the environments.

5 - With the change of the peoplemover, suggestions and discussions have been going on about where to place a Dumbo themed attraction, as well as a variety of other smaller scale dark rides/flat rides to round out the land itself.

6 - Lastly, two sub-brainstorming threads, Beauty and the Beast and Villains Mini-Land -- have been set up, so that those respective conversations can be organized and concise going forward. Those areas seem to have several people's approval and have begun on the specifics if anyone wants to chime in over there - here are the links!

This thread will continue to be the catch-all thread as we continue to develop the project.

That's all for now -- if I missed anything just add it in

Thanks everyone and goodnight!:)
Thank you for this again.
