I honestly think everyone is pretty neutral or indifferent on Mermaid. I'm not partial to it either, I just suggested it because I thought that's what people wanted.
I'd go to Disneyland as an example why this is ok. In theory - Autopia, the (closed peoplemover/rocket rods), motor boat cruise, and monorail are all just transportation rides showing the same scenery. Add onto that the skyway, mine train, actual train are all just different forms of transportation in the park with relatively the same experience. Hell canoes, sailing ship, steam boat, rafts, and keel boats all offer more or less the same experience on the same river. The fact is different sights, from different vantage points, in different vehicles are enough differences to make each an enjoyable unique experience. A Casey Jr train that weaves in and around Fantasyland is conceptually no different than the tomorrowland peoplemover - but its experientially different enough to be its own unique attraction. My fear is not about reusing the ride system but having two very similar experiences. Part of what makes the people mover so special is that it's the only ride like it in the park. These two could have different ride systems, but the overall idea and premise are the same.
I get that, but what you are describing are all different types of transportation rides. The people mover in Fantasyland, at least to me, sounds like an attraction taking people on a tour of Fantasyland and describing each ride it passes by. That sounds EXACTLY the same as Tomorrowland's people mover, and if we do both, I don't know how we could differentiate them that much.I'd go to Disneyland as an example why this is ok. Which is why the term "peoplemover" I think is starting to take over people's minds and create an impression. Literally I think the only similarities we want are some sort of attraction that goes throughout the land rather than being in one location or stuck in a building. I know I'm thinking something along the lines of Casey Jr or Storybookland boats just on a larger scale. Frontierland and Adventurland has their rivers, tomorrowland has its peoplemover, Fantasyland needs its unifying kinetic feature. Hell surround the whole thing with a mountain and make bobsledding the unifying feature.I get that, but what you are describing are all different types of transportation rides. With permission I say we just lift this right up and stick it in because it's about as perfect as they come.
Took the words out of my mouth (with permission of course)With permission I say we just lift this right up and stick it in because it's about as perfect as they come.
You could be painting the roses red. Like, white roses are the target, but the roses have color changing lights that turn red when shot.Maybe. That kinda connects to a similar idea I had with the Epic Mickey ride in sywtbai. Only issue would be how to relate that to Alice.
That is brilliant. You could be painting the roses red. Like, white roses are the target, but the roses have color changing lights that turn red when shot.
That's a good idea. Although I recommend it probably shouldn't be point based or competition based. It'll just be there for the fun of it!You could be painting the roses red. Like, white roses are the target, but the roses have color changing lights that turn red when shot.
Ok I agree with kap on this one...let's take the term "peoplemover" out of the equation.I get that, but what you are describing are all different types of transportation rides. So basically just just a bigger Disneyland Casey Jr. ride? Fantasyland doesn't NEED it, but I'm most certainly in favour of that idea. It fits with Walt's love of his small backyard train!Which is why the term "peoplemover" I think is starting to take over people's minds and create an impression. I totally agree with that. A fun side element to help further elevate this above a traditional fantasyland style dark rideThat's a good idea. Although I recommend it probably shouldn't be point based or competition based. It'll just be there for the fun of it!
That's what I've been picturing based on the descriptions -- a larger scale Casey Jr. Train (not in size, but length and scope of coverage)So basically just just a bigger Disneyland Casey Jr. ride? Yeah me too. That's what I've been picturing based on the descriptions -- a larger scale Casey Jr. Train (not in size, but length and scope of coverage)
View media item 2879Here is my VERY ROUGH very messy draft of what I see the map as. I apologize for the horrible messiness.
Thanks red! Still playing around with the size and scope of Pinocchio, so I will have to make some edits. Length wise though, it should be the longest ride, mostly because it's a boat ride. Finally Caught up!
I think it's a good start to see where things could be Brer!
I think the Pinocchio ride should be cut in half realistically....unless we're doing this ride on the scope of Pirates or Western River with a huge show building, I don't know what we can do with that much space.
What are the Sword and the Stone and the Robin Hood flat rides? I don't think I saw the ideas for those.
Some of the proportions are a little off for show buildings and spaces.... but I think this could be implemented well as a starting map we can kinda see how things transition.
I really think Peter Pan has serious potential for Fantasyland! It seems to have it's own Sub-land in the area, which is cool! I think Neverland could really Transition from your European Village area to Villains land with the Jolly Roger.
I think it'd be awesome to see this really developed well! And I think you'd be awesome to be in charge of that area if you're interested? I think artistically you could really shine with that. You're previous Neverland artwork was really cool!
