Morning everyone!

So today -- the main goal for me will be talking about the entrance...as many opinions as possible would be great at this juncture.

Nothing is finalized yet but to catch everyone up on the last few pages -- some of the top suggestions have been.

Option #1

Early 1900s Australian town center (similar to what is seen in Saving Mr Banks) transitioning into Fantasia Gardens

Option #2

Purely Fantasia Gardens with winding paths, water, forests - similar to Disney Animal Kingdom's -- The Oasis

Option #3
Fantasia Gardens, in a traditional Main Street style.

Instead of themed around a turn of the century town -- the main street is designed after styles from Fantasia, leading to Fantasia Hub -- this is similar to the concept of Mickey Avenue...taking a Main Street design and turning it into something else.

Option #4
enterancesolution-png.202436

Double-Decker Main-Street.

1st floor - indoors, filled with shops
2nd floor - greenery, exploratory

Option #5 - Something Else!
Since a few of us have discussed this you're more than welcome to read our pros/cons to each of these throughout the last few pages, but I'm curious what some fresh eyes think would be the best option.

I would vote for the 3rd option because a Fantasia Main Street hasn't been done before. The next option I would pick is the Fantasia Oasis themed one because that is very different for a Disneyland park!

I'm sure enjoying the non-competitive approach you've been hosting recently. Much thanks! And considering I'll be back in the TPA trenches in two weeks... Tournament of Champions time! This project has been invaluable practice to keep my Imagineering instincts finely honed to match the other top competitors over there. I'm told the challenges are going to be really quite weird.

That'll probably kill my competitive spirit for a while, doing the ultimate competition. We'll see how that goes. Meanwhile, space (or anyone), if you're ever interested in reading some proposals from a totally different set of creators, here are the archives to Theme Park Apprentice. I've been overwhelmed with your back catalog of creations, so it's time to return the favor! ;)
Me too, I love this thread. I tried a competition a few months ago but it just isn't for me. I'd much rather work together and be able to take a break if I need to without feeling guilty. But maybe one day I will go back to competitions when I get more comfortable!:)

Perfect! This is exactly the kind of response I was looking for. You can go as far in-depth as you want, but for the people I was tagging and anyone else who'd like to chime in -- I'm only looking to see your surface level impressions...like the first option that clicks for you (even if it's option 5 - something else). That's all -- because it will help everyone understand the group's mindset...basically like guest feedback.

My vote then (for all the yammering I participated in last night) would also be the third option, with the first option as my second pick.

Basically, for the reasons explained by @Imagineerland, I'm in favor of the traditional layout, but perhaps with more unique content like what Fantasia Gardens allow. That even works in best with some of @MonorailRed's ideas in the Resorts thread.

Hmm. I'll think on this today. As you all were discussing, this really would need to be done right. The entry to the park is what grabs you and starts your experience.

I think initially when this started a couple weeks ago I loved option 2, but thinking about it more, that probably best suited to AK as it is. that park lends itself to that type of opening. As of now, I'd probably lean option 3. Of the 4 it is probably the best transition, though I think elements of others could be added?
For instance 2nd story dining over some of the shops, maybe moreso at the end of "main street" so you have some amazing views of both the street but also the park in front of you. Instead of the closed off walkway of option 4, you could do an open air arcade lining both sides of the street. MK partially has this, but could be a different look.

I prefer option #2. Unlike the entry to Animal Kingdom, I'd expect a more organized garden.

Figment likes option 2 because she says that if we're going for emmersive enviroments than that would be the way to go and animal kingdom does it right. I kind a like option 4 because its nice to have alot of shopping in one place but it probably wont mess with look of the gardens i guess?

Thank you!

For my personal vote...I would pick a hybrid of 2 and 3. There's something about the winding paths of Fantasia Gardens that makes it feel unique -- however to bring guests into and out of the park as efficiently as possibly march towards the hub...I would implement the Fantasia Main Street concept of #3...just for traffic flow purposes...and I love Disney Dad's thoughts about having restaurants on the 2nd floor looking out.

Thanks! @MonorailRed had designed the 4th option....I liked it as well -- the one thing I think @D Hindley had brought up would be that the bottom level would be hidden from a castle view since it would be indoors.

But for capacity sake - the 4th option definitely has the most and allows for the most shopping.

Make two for this. There could even be a couple walkthroughs themed to Fantasia segments and the train could have a Rite of Spring tunnel between Tomorrowland and Fantasia Gardens.

Magan again, sorry for posting so soon again. Figments wants to know how the train would fit in if the station if not a the front of the park. it will pass through the gardens at some point. will that be a disconnect?
No worries! I do it all the time:p You're more than welcome to post consecutively!

And for that -- I'm guessing that the station itself wouldn't be themed like a traditional Main Street Station -- and have influence from the film - maybe some Roman/Greek aesthetics.

Are we planning for the castle to be seen from the "main street" or really more after you've gone through the gardens?
It would depend on what option we eventually choose.

Something like Option #3 -- the castle would be seen similar to a traditional Main Street
Main-Street-Magic-Kingdom.jpg

However something like Option #2 -- with tall trees around encapsulating the guests as the roam towards the hub -- it would be like the Oasis where the Castle (or Tree in that case) is hidden until the big reveal
