"TMZ has learned more about the deaths of WWE wrestling superstar Chris Benoit, his wife and son -- and the information is extremely disturbing.
Several Atlanta-based law enforcement sources have told TMZ Benoit may have strangled his wife on Saturday, then smothered his son in his bed a day later. Investigators refuse to officially comment, pending final confirmation by the coroner on the cause and time of the deaths.
One source told TMZ that Benoit was texting friends during Sunday's WWE "Vengeance" Pay-Per-View program -- possibly watching the show with his son, who may have been alive at the time.
According to sources, Benoit then hanged himself Monday in a weight room inside the family home."

I hope that we not only find out a cause of death for all three, but motives as well. I really don't know much about WWF or WWE but it seems like this guy was a pretty decent person... What would make him do this?

My local (Atlanta) news at noon hasn't reported any details yet but they just said that there is supposed to be a press conference later this afternoon. Hopefully more details will be released then. They also showed video of people bring wreaths and flowers to the house and putting them up on the fence outside. I drove by the street where their house is located this morning and saw all the news trucks and police parked on the street outside the house and I considered stopping for a bit but to watch the activity but I didn't want to be in anyone's way.
Just watched the video on CNN, it is certainly an odd story so far and if it does turn out to be made up, alot of people deserve to lose their jobs over it and all the authorities involved should be reimbursed for the amount of time they have spent on the case.
Not sure where the gas leak story started but I haven't read that anywhere and I think if a gas leak of some sort were the case they'd want to make that clear right away instead of making people think it was a murder-suicide for a day.

SEEMS like a pretty decent person. Many people appear to be decent on the outside but are hiding something.
I got the vibe that Cena didn't think he was a decent person...and even McMahon didn't really say much...other than "Tonight we're going to have a tribute to Benoit's great matches" (I have no respect for McMahon though either).
It's a shame...because I put him on a pedestal as far as what a wrestler should be...along with Bret Hart. Now...he doesn't hold a candle to Bastion Booger in my eyes.

There was no gas leak. Authorities have confirmed it as a murder-suicide.
The creepy part....he killed his wife on Saturday, then stayed in the home with the child for another day before killing him. And then, stayed another day before killing himself. Creepy as hell.

How could the police find bodies and order autopsies for a hoax? I don't see any way this could be faked unless the cops come out at that presser later and say "GOTCHA!" :shrug:

It's no hoax. If the police came out and did that...there would be some MAJOR issues and some answering to do. (As well as MANY officers losing their jobs)

Exactly. I'm pretty jaded and not a lot in this world surprises me, but that would definitely be one of them. This has to be real.

link please - I've only seen that they're investigating it as a murder-suicide.
Actually this is the latest I've read:
"Ballard told The Associated Press a gun was not used in any of the deaths, but he would not say how the three died.
“We’re pretty sure we know, but we want to confirm it with the crime lab,” Ballard said early Tuesday."

It's so weird that he waited around for a day to kill himself. Did he originally plan to just go on with his life, and then feel overcome by guilt? Very, very strange.
