Chris Benoit, family found dead

HHH was saying last night that the only word to sum up Chris Benoit was "RESPECT"

Well, HHH...if the murder/suicide proves to be what happened...not only will everybody lose respect for him...but on the flipside...he obviously had no respect for his wife or that young life that he took.

Disgusting.

Now...if it turns out to be the gasleak that killed the three of them..that would "kinda" explain the "family emergency" because they would've been ill...he would've gone home to take care of them...and then died in their sleep. And, it was a new house that they moved into wasn't it?

Am I missing something? I've read that it could be murder/suicide but where oh where do any of you see it say that Chris must be the one who did it, if it does turn out to be that? Anyone remember what happened to Phil Hartman?

Anyway, as I read somewhere that Chris told WWE that his wife and child were sick and he was going home to take care of them makes it sound like a gas leak to me.

Until the results of the autopsies, I'll reserve judgment on the situation and people involved.

The Murder/Suicide story was that he had actually killed them the night prior to his suicide.

Like you though, no judgment will be made until word gets out on what actually happened. WWE is reporting murder/suicide and says that they have more information that they can't release. (Heck, it would be extremely sick...but when it comes to the WWE...this may be one huge publicity stunt).

The gas leak story coincides with him leaving to take care of his family.

You make a very good point. Women are capable of this heinous crime just as well as a man. Here is the latest from SI.com:

Bodies of Benoit, wife and son discovered in Ga. home

Posted: Monday June 25, 2007 9:24PM; Updated: Tuesday June 26, 2007 8:49AM

Pro wrestler Chris Benoit canceled a pay-per-view appearance at the "Vengeance" event in Houston because of "personal reasons" a day before he, his wife and their 7-year-old son were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide.
Details of the deaths "are going to prove a little bizarre" when released to the public, Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Autopsies were scheduled Tuesday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in DeKalb County.

Authorities were investigating the deaths at a secluded Fayette County home as a murder-suicide and were not seeking any suspects.
Investigators believe Benoit, (pronounced ben-WAH) killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself sometime Monday. The bodies were found Monday afternoon in three different rooms of the house on Green Meadow Lane, in a subdivision off a gravel road about two miles from the Whitewater Country Club.
Ballard told The Associated Press a gun was not used in any of the deaths. But he declined to say how the three died.
"We're pretty sure we know, but we want to confirm it with the crime lab," Ballard said early Tuesday.
Fayette County Coroner C.J. Mowell did not return phone calls. The answering service for his funeral home said he was out of town.
World Wrestling Entertainment said on its Web site that it asked authorities to check on Benoit and his family after being alerted by friends who received "several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning."
Sheriff's Lt. Tommy Pope told WSB-TV that the three were found about 2:30 p.m., but he wouldn't release other details.
Stamford, Conn.-based WWE also said on its Web site it had been asked by authorities not to release further information on the deaths of Benoit, 40; his wife, Nancy, 43; and son, Daniel.
Benoit was born in Montreal. He was a former world heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion and held several tag-team titles over his career. He was known by several names including "The Canadian Crippler."
"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the company said in a statement on its Web site.
Benoit had maintained a home in metro Atlanta from the time he wrestled for the defunct World Championship Wrestling.
The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in Corpus Christi, Texas, and USA Network aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit in place of the scheduled wrestling telecast.
Benoit's wife managed several wrestlers and went by the stage name, "Woman," The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
They met when her then-husband drew up a script that had them involved in a relationship as part of an ongoing story line on World Championship Wrestling, the newspaper said.
Benoit has two other children from a prior relationship.

This really sucks. He was such a great wrestler to watch.

A guy here at work found something posted by someone in the sheriff's office which said that his wife killed his son, and he then killed his wife in an act of rage, then hung himself afterwards. I dont' know if this is fact or not, it's just the story I've got.

this is a sad day.

I read on WWE that he called and cancelled an event on Saturday and the PPV..not that he left from it to go home...

What I recall reading on the WWE site was that he was in Texas for a Saturday show (and then the PPV on Sunday). He called the office to tell them he was flying/returning home on Saturday due to illness in his family. On the other hand, I have seen a few news stories that seem to indicate he never got to Texas.

Why do these stories keep popping up every so often? People want to leave this world but they have to take their kids with them. Why can't they just leave by themselves!?!

Until this is cleared up, I will reserve judgement on Chris and Nancy.

RIP Daniel.

WWE.com has pulled basically EVERYTHING related to Benoit except for the story itself. The tributes are all gone, and they are going through the shopzone and removing all the Benoit merchandise.

He appearantly strangled his wife and child and then hanged himself.

I really wish this sort of information would have been available before they taped the show last night. Those "tributes" would have been just a bit different.

Ya know...I kinda respect the WWE (and I never thought I'd ever say that) for pulling that merchandise because you know that people would buy that stuff like hotcakes. (the sickos and the people that don't know how it happened).

I agree...but they should not touch on this subject again on the air. Unless you are going to celebrate the lives of Nancy and the young life of Daniel...leave this one alone. Chris deserves no more airtime.

Aside from Chavo and Edge...the other wrestlers were giving me a vibe that they didn't really care for him other than the fact that they respected what he did for the business and how determined he was while there.

Cena barely said anything about "the person" that Chris Benoit was...just about how great of a person he was for the business. He said that he never let anybody in (even Chavo said that). Maybe that's what ultimately did him in.

Good video on CNN's front page.
This could get even more interesting.

After watching the video...

Could this be a staged thing?

If so, WWE and everybody affiliated with it is the sickest bunch of 's going.

What is weird...was the emails prior to him even being "missing" asking if he was dead.

Supposedly there were text messages sent from him to friends over the weekend. Those may hold the key.
Staged? No chance.
