Fine, sorry I don't have a positive attitude. You guys want to thnk outside the box, go for it then. Excuse me for being "whiny". I'm washing my hands of this, if you want to nominate me for elimination so be it. Otherwise, I'll see you all on project 4.

Guys, we're never gonna get anything done like this. Tiki is right. Our team picked a hard attraction. So what? We really do need to rise up to the challenge.

Here's a List of Pros and Cons for this Attraction:

Pros:
-Completely Original and Creative Idea
-Introduction of another "scary" attraction
-Great Storylines
-Something that is truly needed for an overlooked attraction

Cons:
-It's dark.
-The train moves too fast to create a sight-based story
-The train is uncapable of stopping, speeding up, or slowing down
-The train makes 3 stops

Someone had mention earlier that we should just do a train ride where a narrator tells ghost stories, and little things here and there (like the Headless Horseman) were added in. Honestly, and ominous voice on a train during pitch black darkness in the back of Magic Kingdom with aliens is enough to scare me silly. So we don't neccessarily don't need a huge storyline, and something for riders to look at every 5 seconds. The basics are pretty much enough.

Also, bear in mind that the other team has similar restrictions.

As we are restricted by the train's constant motion and stops, they're restricted by water. And I would have to say that you would have less things to do when your vehicle is in water.

Yes. Take it from one who has experienced one, it is scary! However, you don't even need to stop the train. If anything, the train should speed up (if possible) to try and outrun the Indians, who would be on horseback. And the best part about this is that it can be accomplished in daylight, as I have learned from personal experience. If you have the conductor off-handedly mention how "the Indians get kind of vicious, but they haven't been a problem lately, so we should be okay," the attack is then set up perfectly. I know it seems obvious, but let me say, ten-year-old me almost had a heart attack. The key to it is keeping the attack close to the facts, and not have them too ridiculously stereotyped, or else it almost becomes comical.

Wait, you were literally attacked by Indians?

Also, I don't think we want to do the horse chase. Because 15 seconds later, you see the Headless Horseman. Too many horses for me.

I was also thinking that some Disney villain could hijack the train, but wouldn't that be too complicated?
This type of thing may only work at the Fantasyland train stop, but then he/she would have to be gone by Tomorrowland. I'm not sure the train could slow down enough / stop for it to be safe.

Ah... they could get captured by the aliens.

Maybe it could just be a stunt man or something.

I'd imagine the train could start out slow from FL and they could take it over. The other villans could help and then something would have to happen that they'd jump off before TL.

I admit that I haven't been on the railroad in 5+ trips, so 10+ years and until I watched a youtube tonight, I hadn't realized how quick it moves.

Definitely a possibility though.

Yeah. It moves the fastest going towards Main Street.

I had actually never been on it until I last went in October.

Yes
Sorry to intrude, but I just wanted to share a little tidbit that may help. The Magic Kingdom Railroad runs at a 0.2% grade from Fantasyland to Main Street. So, yes, the train runs a little faster on that last leg.

Continue.

Thanks TrevorA. Anyway, I'm going to bed. But before I do:

I already looked at the video of the train on youtube. The perfect area for the alien ship is a big patch of grass (you'll notice it immediately) between CoP and SM. A TTA track runs above it as well.

THere's also a tunnel that is right before the toontown stop. Maybe we can have a cacophany of villains voices in there.\

Also, there's a little area on the right hand side in ADventureland that would be perfect for some sort of setup.

No, it was a thing my family and I went to for lunch while we were on vacation. Long story. But the point was, I wasn't expecting it, even with the off-hand comment, and it scared the pants off me. I thought we were all gonna die. They don't need to start off behind you, they can come from the front and then fall behind because the train is moving faster than they are.

Maybe we could move one of the horse attacks to another leg? Or else we do have to get rid of one of them. Although, for me personally, that many horses would be scarier, because I think that I may not like them so much after the last time I was near a horse. (If you're wondering, it almost threw me off, stepped on my head, and killed me. But it didn't!!)

I'm not sure if a cacophany of voices would work better than one voice with a well written script. I think that the threat of the voices may be lost in the cacophany.

Right guy's I know I'm team leader, but I lost my uncle this morning, so my time is going to be at a serious premium. I've pm'd Tazer about it, and asked him if he'd help pick up the slack.

This whole idea has been a shambles, partly my fault for not clamping down as team leader, but there's no comunication, and when concerns were raised that what we were sttempting wasn't achievable, certain people we're accused of "being negative", "not being a team player" and "pouting and moaning".

Let's just get something done, I'll help where I can, but my head's all over the place

Alright, time to get back on track (pun completely intended) and have some fun getting this together.

We're going to go with Tiki's idea of breaking down the sections and allowing everyone some input.

Please look at the map and see the color coded sections:
map.jpg

Adventureland (Red) - Jungle perils
Frontierland (Blue) - Sleepy Hollow/Classic Halloween stories
Fantasyland (Yellow) - Disney Villains
Tomorrowland (Purple) - Aliens/SciFi

Please think about which section you would prefer to write the story for and post in this thread. Again, ideally we'll have 2 people for each section. If you're interested in multiple sections, please say so, that way we can have each covered.

The trick is going to be utilizing the space we have and using special effects to make it work. Please consider that live people and a moving train = trouble.

There will need to be an intro and conclusion to each section and the Yellow and Purple will need a transition. I was thinking Villains take over, Heros help out and things calm down just before the purple section.

If we can, lets try to get the basics together by Friday night so we can edit on Saturday.

Anyone want to try their hand at images? I was thinking a classic attraction poster would be cool.

Oh, I thought it was a legit Indian attack.

Headless Horseman (at least the Disney one) could definitely work in Toontown.

I'm thinking of using the more menacing villains (Ursula, Cruela de Vil, Maleficent, Clayton, Chernabog, Jafar...)

We could also throw Hook and Hades in for a comedic effect.

Wasn't it my idea to break down the sections? :lookaroun

For me, I'll take the Fantasyland (villains) story. I could also do Jungle Perils.

Also, why are the classic Disney villains in Toontown?

As for the transition, I mention something about the villain (now I get why it's in Toontown, disregard that last comment) getting abducted by the aliens.

I'll have my stories up by tonight.

Don't count on me for drawing anything....

That works. There's so much going on, I apologize if I missed your originally post breaking it down.

Why don't you do the villains for now and run with it.
