Okay guys, here's my general brainstorm of the Adventureland section. Please note that I'm really not at all familiar with the WDW Railroad design, so we might have to make some geographical editing here and there.

So, we start our adventure into the perils of the jungle after leaving the comforts of Main Street USA by entering a large, dense thicket. Obviously pretty dark. In this section, darkness will play a KEY role. Anyways, the narrator narrates about the various dangers of the jungle, including lions, hyenas, vultures, and whatever else. High tech surround sound effects will be used in this section to make it seem as though these animals are all around you.

Possible Idea: An attack by a live actor playing a head hunter. It could be a nice scare moment, as a light suddenly flashes on the actor in a position ready to strike. COULD be a little too scary.

Anyways, the second part of the AL section involves an under-rated Disney villain. Kaa from the Jungle book. In this section, lighting will be used to its fullest potential. The basic gist of the Kaa sequence is as though the entire TRAIN is being hypnotized by Kaa. There will be a Kaa puppet hanging in the middle of this section, size depending on the amount of space available. Sound will also play a pretty big role hear. Even the narration gets hypnotized. (What do you guys think of that idea? I think it'd be cool to turn the narration into a character in its own right.)

After being hypnotized, we pull into the next stop, confused, scared and excited about what our next haunted adventure will be.

Story idea: Each section will have a Disney villain, and that's how the story will link.

Adventureland: Kaa
Frontierland: Headless Horseman
Fantasyland: ? (Multiple?)
Tomorrowland: ???

And somehow the entire thing is like a big plan by the villains to take over the Magic Kingdom.

Thoughts?

Love it. I'm not sure about DL, but the stretch from Main Street to FL is the shortest in WDW, but I think we can still make this work. I re-watched some ride video and I think if we cover up/block out the current set pieces, this works.

I think you have a perfect transition to the stop. Then we pick up on the headless hoseman section which has an obvious transition if we play off the actual story. Fig has a good story for the Villians.

The final section that Future and I am working on is an homage to Alien Encounter... bringing back the original 'characters' and utilizing sound and images to pretend another breakout. However as a transition I had thought Buzz "saves" us from the multiple villains and than saves us from the alien (L.C. Clench is helping him with his lasers). So while not entirely traditional, our Disney Villian would be another Alien Encounter.

I'm thinking Buzz in Halloween gear (as the 4th Amigo made me chuckle) would add some humor and him using his lasers would 'shock' us back to reality and suddenly back to the comfort and familiarity of Main Street.

Open to comments/concerns of course.

For Fantasyland, there are multiple villains. THe more menacing ones, however.

So, you went with the AE homage?

Maybe you could somehow incorporate Zurg? Even though Zurg is a lame villain....

Maybe the end part of the ride could be where Mickey and the Heroes inform you that the villain's reign of terror is over?

I'm not sure if we should do a big ending after the TL scene. Only because there will be people getting on and off at each stop and that may not be the end for them. Each section should have it's own transition since the ride is continuous.

Okay, so with a little more than 5 hours to go, here's where we are:

I've taken the liberty of putting together an intro, but by all means, if anyone has suggestions, please post.

The Walt Disney World Railroad takes you on a 20-minute ride around the Magic Kingdom. While normally a relaxing way to view the various lands of the Magic Kingdom, some riders have recently reported strange and eery occurrences throughout the track. It appears some of the Disney Villains are using Halloween as their chance to take over the park. As you leave the station, keep your eyes open and be alert... you never know what lies around each turn.

This ride description assumes the guest is boarding at Main Street and will complete a full circle of the park.

We start our adventure into the perils of the jungle after leaving the comforts of Main Street USA by entering a large, dense thicket. Obviously pretty dark. In this section, darkness will play a KEY role. The narrator describes the various dangers of the jungle, including lions, hyenas, vultures, etc. High tech surround sound effects will be used in this section to make it seem as though these animals are all around you.

One highlight is an attack by a live actor playing a head hunter. It could be a nice scare moment, as a light suddenly flashes on the actor in a position ready to strike.

The second part of the AL section involves an under-rated Disney villain. Sound will also play a pretty big role here. Even the narration gets hypnotized.

A quick sketch I did of Kaa: http://yfrog.com/89image066oj

After being hypnotized, we pull through Splash Mountain, the window of which have been covered and the tunnel is full of light and sound, continuing the theme. We pull into the next stop, confused, scared and excited about what our next haunted adventure will be.

As we pull out of Frontierland, sounds and light is again utilized as we here werewolves howling and see eyes in the bushes. When we think we've avoided the wolves we hear galloping and see the headless horseman just off to the side of the track. The horseman will be played by a real actor on a real horse. As he chases the train, the narrator will tell us more about the legend of the headless horseman. At one point we lose track of him on one side, only to see him on the other side (another actor/horse) so that no matter what side you're on you get the full effect. We out run the horseman and pull into Fantasyland.

After the events that took place during Mickey's nightmare, the Disney heroes banished them to the area outside the Magic Kingdom's berm. This strip of land was known as the Shadowlands. They were unable to cross a magical line set up by Yensid himself. Fortunately, before he could be captured, Dr. Facilier, the newest Disney villain, liberated the villains from their imprisonment. His magic was no match for Yensid's, but he made a deal with his "friends on the other side" to temporarily disable it. Now, the villains wreak havoc in the back area of the Magic Kingdom, near Toontown and Fantasyland. They would go deeper into the parks, but they know they're no match for Mickey and friends. They are working in conjunction with the other "scary things" going on in the Magic Kingdom's outskirts.

Just when we think we're in trouble we hear a familiar voice and see our hero, Buzz Lightyear, who is ridiculously dressed for Halloween. Buzz tells us to move along and he'll take care of the Villans.

After saving the train from the Disney villains, Buzz tells the riders that a new friend of his is waiting around the corner, L.C. Clench. Buzz say L.C. has been helping him upgrade his lasers and that after his mishap at XS he’s founded a ‘zoo’ to keep the aliens happy and healthy. We see L.C. (live actor) frazzled and saying he’s had another mishap. He shows us a picture of an alien that has gotten loose. The cage door is open. A few other aliens are in their cages. As the train moves on special effects are used to frighten guests and make them think it’s around the train. As the train approaches the bridge we see Buzz again who says the alien is on top of the train and he’s going to use his new lazers. There’s a bright red flash from Buzz’s laser that lasts as the train pasts. Immediately the train is back in regular surroundings and we’re told we’re back to the comfort and safety of Main Street.

The narrator will play an intregal part of the story as they will be responsible for amping up the riders as they see and hear things. They will also have to introduce welcome new riders at each stop and warn them that there are some strange things going on.

STILL NEEDED:

Pluto is working on some more stuff for the second section.

FutureImageneer is working on some art for the last section.

I'll add some links unless others want to do any art.

If Mathew is not around I am going to post the project so please post suggestions/comments, etc. as soon as you can. He will still be the one submitting the 'bottom' 2.

hi guys i was thinkin that for the section we could have some stationary wolf AA's then they would notice something or hear a sound and the area would go very dark and then it lights up and they are next to the train running(brer rabbit on splash mountain)....and then for the headless horsemen part you could see a house then right after it could just be him off in the distance and then he could chase the train never actually catching it.....

WDW Haunted Railroad Attraction Script
First Leg: Main Street to Frontierland
(Before train leaves each station)
Narrator: Welcome to the Walt Disney World Haunted Railroad. Before we depart, we must inform you that this experience may be frightening for some guests. If you fear that this attraction may frighten you or your children, please leave the train now.
(Train leaves station)
Narrator: Once again, Welcome to the Walt Disney World Haunted Railroad. The next stop on our journey will be Frontierland. But before we can take you there, I must provide a warning. The Disney Villains are using this Halloween season to take over the Magic Kingdom. So, you'll never no whats in store. Hahahaha. As we now enter the dense jungles of the world, be aware of the dangerous animals that sit only a few feet away.
(Animal Noises begin to play, then you don't hear from the narrator for a few more seconds)
Narrator: Another danger that lies within these jungles are the ruthless head hunters that hide within the underbrush. You never know when you might see one...
(Lights flash as a head hunter appears beside the train, ready to attack, then lights go back out.)
Narrator: You also must be advised that a rare species of snake that have the power to hypno.....
(The narrator begins babbling, and then falls asleep. Purple spinning lights come at the train, giving the feeling that the riders are being hypnotized.)
Kaa: Trust...... In..... Me........
(The riders pass through the Splash Mountain tunnel (the narrator is still asleep) when they hear the Vultures from the ride warning them of the even further dangers that lie ahead. The narrator then reawakens.)
Narrator: Ahh.. where was I? Oh! We're approaching the Frontierland Station. Those of you brave enough to continue... stay on the train. If you have cold feet, please exit the train when it comes to a complete stop.
(Train comes to a stop, and the "disclaimer" is played. The train begins to move again.)
Second Leg: Frontierland to Toontown/Fantasyland
Narrator: Welcome to the Walt Disney World Haunted Railroad. We're now meandering through the outskirts of Tumbleweed. Beware, this is where those mean little varmints are.
(The howling of wolves begins, and you can see their red glowing eyes in nearby caves and bushes. The narrator doesn't speak until the howling dies down.)
Narrator: Various reports have been filed about a mysterious figure with a pumpkin head on horseback causing trouble throughout town. One man named Ichabod Crane claims to have been attacked by this figure, nicknamed the Headless Horseman. Be on the lookout for him, he tends to lurk around these areas.
(Headless Horseman Appears beside the train.)
Headless Horseman: How dare you cross my path! You will pay for this.
(Headless Horseman begins to chase the train, and his head is flaming.)
Narrator: Hahaha. I see you've become acquainted him. Legend has it that he was killed during the Revolutionary War, and returned to Earth as a ghost, terrorizing innocent people. He tends to decapitate his victims. Lets hope you'll be one of the lucky ones to escape.
(The Headless Horseman comes to a halt before a broken down tree.)
Headless Horseman: Curse You!
(The train passes through a tunnel, and Ichabod Crane's voice is heard)
Ichabod Crane: (Shakily) Is he gone...?
Narrator: We're now approaching the Fantasyland station. If you wish to complete this journey, stay on the train. If you wish to go no further, please leave the train as it comes to a complete stop.
(Train stops. The disclaimer is once again read.)
Third Leg: Fantasyland to Main Street
Narrator: Welcome to the Walt Disney World Haunted Railroad. We're now passing through The Shadowland, where the Disney Villains tend to reside. This whole takeover wouldn't be possible without the help of Dr. Facilier. The newest Disney Villain freed all the villains from their magical boundaries set by Yensid, the most powerful sorceror in history. He made a deal with his "friends on the other side" to disable it.
(Villains voices are heard.)
Captain Hook: That Peter Pan has foiled me for the last time! I'll get him yet, if it's the last thing I do!
Ursula: That little fish-girl cannot defeat me! I'll turn her into a guppie!
Chernabog: Intruders to our land! I'll send them to the Underworld!
Hades: Leave that to me.
(Hades appears, looking as if he's about to open a portal to the underworld, as all the villain's laughs are heard. Then, Buzz Lightyear, dressed in Halloween gear, appears and blasts Hades away.)
Buzz Lightyear: Don't worry about these guys, I'll take care of them.
(Buzz blasts a lazer into the ground, and the Dr.'s "Friends" appear. The villains all begin to scream and yell as the ghosts fly into the woods.)
Narrator: I've some business to take to. Buzz, can you guide through Tomorrowland?
Buzz: Sure.
Narrator: Great. I'll see you later.
Buzz: Alright. Now that we're basically through with the terror, I have someone to introduce you to. Just up the road is a good friend of mine, Chairman of XS Tech, L.C. Clench. He's been helping me upgrade my equipment. He's already took up business in Tomorrowland, but a small mishap shut him down. He's back, and he's set up a "zoo" where the aliens can live peacefully. Look, here he is.
(Clench appears, surrounded by alien-filled cages. One door is open.)
Clench: (Nervously) Buzz! I've lost one! Help me get him back!
(Shows picture of escaped alien)
Buzz: Don't worry, I'll get him back.
Clench: Thank you, Buzz Lightyear!
(The train moves on into a completely darkened area. Rustling noises and heavy breathing are heard. Then, a thump is heard overhead.)
Buzz: Nobody move. It's on top of the train. Don't worry, I'll use my new lazer to disable him.
(Red beam of light appears, and the alien yelps.)
Buzz: That's taken care of. Here, I got this new lazer that should blast you guys back into reality.
(Red beam of light appears again. Narrator returns.)
Narrator: Ah, Welcome Back to reality! I hoped you enjoyed your little trip. Currently, we're right behind Main Street, and we're approaching the station. If this is your final stop, I bid you farewell. If you wish to travel to Frontierland or Fantasyland, please stay on the train.
(Train stops in the Main Street Station.)

Special Effects/Extras:

We will utilize the dark atmosphere to play on the guest senses through sounds and imagery and make them believe things are there that really are not. Light and sound from other parts of the park will be blocked out with walls and screens.

Cast Members would play Buzz, Clench, The Headless Horseman and Hades.
AAs of the Head Hunter, Kaa, Icahbod Crane and the Alien.

Great job guys! I think this is pretty much all we need. Just combine the script with the write up, and we've got a pretty killer project on our hands.

I know my contrebution has been minimal, but as I've said family stuff. That's a great effort guys, really pleased with you. It was a hard project, but we managed to get a workable project in on time :D

I'd also like to nominate Figmental for next team leader. He's a great, enthusiastic team member and deserves his shot.

Project is up guys, and the bottom two sent.

I'm so sorry I;ve not helped a lot, and I hope that whatever happens I'll be forgiven. Choosing the bottom two wasn't easy but it had to be done so let's hope we win and none of us have to leave eh :D
