We went to Chef Mickey's for dinner this past January and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to get some nice pictures with the characters (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Goofy) and the food was very good.
Never been for breakfast so I cannot compare the experiences but I highly recommend it for dinner.

Enjoy your trip!

Breakfast wasn't bad, a pretty standard spread for a WDW buffet. I do seem to recall they had donuts though, which may have been unique. But at the time we weren't there for the grub.

It's been a couple of years since we did dinner but we loved it. There was something for the whole family to love and at the time my kids were picky eaters.

Like everything else I think you have to experience it yourselves, you can't go by what others have said. Recently we had the conversation with friends and there are some restaurants that we really love that they hate and vice versa.

We went for dinner last August, and it was a very good experience. We were there late, around 8PM, but the food and atmosphere were still great! There was a lot of character interaction, even though there were some large (and loud) parties seated near us.. we definitely didn't get short changed, especially with Pluto! The food was good and there were diverse options.. but dessert was THE BEST.

We're planning on dinner @ Chef Mickey's in early Dec. Never been, but figure it's a great location for dinner after a day in the MK.

We've only done dinner there as well. It was pretty good. The food was good, but not anything special. It filled us up for sure.

We had dinner ressies this trip but they were later, so we made a breakfast ressie as well and thought we could decide which one we would like to keep. We asked the kids and surprisingly enough they chose dinner. (I'm guessing the dessert and ice cream bar had something to do with that. :animwink:)

I've only done breakfast - well actually breakfast and one Mother's Day "Brunch" (which really wasn't too different from breakfast except the addition of two fish dishes and a carving station). Breakfast is nice, good food, and it allows you to hit MK right after. Something to consider if you're going mainly for the characters and you're not on the dining plan, breakfast is much cheaper than dinner. Also if you stay off-site there are advantages with driving to the Contemporary in the morning that can give you to more savings for that day (and that's as much as I will say about that) :animwink: :lookaroun

We did breakfast and dinner there last year. Both were really good, but I would give the edge to breakfast (we're more breakfast people anyways). However, the selection at both meals is really good, and the desserts at dinner are really good. I also think it's the only restaurant you can get these:

Thank You Everyone!!!

I think we have decided on Crystal Palace for breakfast and Chef Mickeys for dinner. We had dinner at Crystal Palace last September, so we are trying the breakfast this year. Thanks again for all of you recommendations. :sohappy:

I have been to both the breakfast and dinner numerous times and i find them to be both quite good. If I had to choose between them, i would go for dinner.

We always enjoy going to Crystal Palace for breakfast and I've only ever done dinner at Chef Mickey's. I'd say you made a good choice!
