I've read alot about the Pop Warner cheerleaders in WDW in December. The last thing I need is a vacation filled with teenage cheerleaders, does anyone know when they will be there this year or how I could find out?

It's usually the first week in December, exactly why I go to WDW the second week in December.

We were there last year while they were there and it was no big deal. We had a much worse experience with rowdy teenagers this past April on the days they were holding Grad Nights.

Went in 2005 and they were unruly. During the parade and fireworks they screamed and thought it was funny no one could hear the narration. All I have on my video is the parade/fireworks and the sound of screaming teenagers. Not all are bad, just the few that did not have a chaperon with them at the time. I would definetly stay away from the value resorts during that time though.

Even if they all looked like Hayden Panettiere from Heroes and were re-enacting the shower scene from Porky's, the moment I hear that high-pitched "WE'RE HAPPY AND WE SHOW IT SO YOU JUST CAN'T HELP BUT KNOW IT" squeal, I want to give them the opportunity to see what Kurt Cobain's doing nowadays. Grrrrr...

You really shouldn't let the cheerleaders bother your schedule of when to go. There seems to be something going on at disney all the time now. I know that DANCE teams have a couple of weeks in january. The marathon is in january. You have pop warner football, cheerleaders, Soccer tournaments, jersey week, etc.
Just make a best guess and go with it. You will have a great time.

I don't know, that shower scene from Pork's might sway me to the dark side.
If you are trapped on a bus with a bunch of cheering teenage girls you will think it's Satan's way of ruining the magic. I apolgize to all of the well behaved cheerleaders. To the parents of the obnoxious cheerleaders I say, teach your kids how to act in public, and save the cheers for the competition.

I respectfully disagree based on personal experience. I think you should plan your trip when the cheerleaders are NOT there. I was on a WDW bus that had be pulled over so Disney security could come escort the cheerleaders AND their mothers off the bus because they were being so horrible. I thought I was going to see a fist fight. Granted they are not all a problem, but if you think you may stay at an All Star or at Pop I'd definitely avoid that time period. Pop Warner is almost always the first week of December. This year it is Dec 1 - 8th. There are also cheer competitions in the Feb/Mar time frame. There is plenty of information available online to plan your trip to not coincide with events you want to avoid. From experience, I do have to say that they got on my nerves a lot of the time especially because most stayed at POR were my team was, or most of them were just obnoxious and I was just trying to enjoy Disney
On a less negative note though... You won't always see them because
1) Practice everyday, sometimes AM and PM, so not much park time
2) We had curfews
3) Competition at Wide World of Sports sometimes takes all day and after we all just went for a swim and slept
Also, not sure if they still do it, all the cheerleaders and football players (don't forget they are there too in Dec.) have a special buffet at MGM at night , so if that still goes on you might want to find out what night it is to avoid it
