It's probably just a case of the whole working better than the sum of its parts. You had these people bouncing ideas off of each other that created a perfect storm, then when you separate them there's no one to tell each other that certain ideas aren't too hot.I wonder if it similar to sports. Some coaches do a great job when they have their assistant coaches. The assistant coaches are promoted due to their team's success and then tank. Then, the former coach also has problems because his/her assistants are not as good as those that left.
Kennedy was already in a high ranking position at Lucasfilm, Lucas picked her himself. She wasn't some outsider that Disney plopped in.Ya know what I always wondered. When George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney, GL appointed KK to run Lucasfilm. Was he forced to do this? Did he not know how bad a direction KK was going to go in? Did KK just yes, yes GL until she had control then went her own way?
