Your Walt statement seems a bit off. As I understand it, Walt "was in it" to make whatever idea he had in his melon become a reality. Walt also wasn't stupid and he understood he needed money to make those ideas happen. However it didn't appear that making money was in the forefront of his thought process when coming up with an idea or trying to execute it. His brother was there to make sure Walt didn't bankrupt the company in the process of making whatever crazy idea had come to fruition.

Walt wanted money. He famously fought with his brother over how much he was being paid and how he was more valuable to the business than his paychecks would imply.

If Chapek ever took personal ownership of an attraction in a park, and collected a seperate ticket fee for such, then you could start to complain that he's a greedy CEO. Until then, he's still just working for the shareholders.

The thing is... you don't NEED Disney. It's not like food or water or electricity, where if it went away tomorrow life would be terrible. It's not like Google or Microsoft, where it's not necessary for life but so many people rely upon it. It's not even like Facebook where it would be annoying to have to change my log ins and get pictures over email. People pay for Disney product because they like it and its image, not because they need it.

It would be in Disney's interest to have a decent public image, that's all.

$400K now, $40 million after they're out of office
And Secret Service protection for life! When former Pres. George Bush ate at the Coronado Springs Pepper Market food court at lunch time with us guests they were at least 15 agents in the immediate area and some were at his side when he waited for his food to be made. He got a standing ovation for the crowd.

IMO, the post-office benefits need to be drastically reduced.

The secret service protection is overdone…but there is an ideological principle there I still kinda support. It’s a era of kooks out in the open now

I disagree. We shouldn't have to pay for their office space, etc. I could see $5,000,000 after leaving office as a cap on total post-office expenditures. Don't forget, these people are independently wealthy before they even take office, never mind the gigs they get after they're done.

And he didn't get any special treatment from the food court cast. He waited in line to get his burrito to be made in the resort food court like everyone else except one agent was next to the food court CM observing him making the food.

Ex presidents are no different than anybody else (put their pants on the same as me)they get a huge life time pension(day they leave office) plus become millionaires once out of office. Let them pay for their body guards if they think they need them. Four ex presidents-- we the people are footing the bill

If I protested every fortune 500 company that paid it's ceo ridiculous amounts of money, I'd have to quit my job (although I'm retired) get rid of my health care, sell my car and probably live in a hole.😀
You'd probably be unable to buy most necessities.. as almost every single product in existence are just sister brands of gigantic corporations (I'm looking at you, Kellog's, Yum brands, Procter & Gamble, etc..)

That is not true…they are a symbol that you can yield the worlds power on a TEMPORARY basis and then walk away. That was the whole point of the way it was drawn up. Just like a volunteer army that doesn’t “belong to anyone. George Washington circa 1783/1797.

you have to stand for SOMETHING, right?

I hope I’m not being “subtle” with this…

as an aside…if anyone is interested in “feeling history”, I recommend Fraunces tavern in lower manhattan…it’s obviously not the same as it was in the 1700’s…but you get kinda a “Jedi rush” when you understand how some moments influence the world forever. Cinncinattus
