News Chapek FIRED, Iger New CEO

ShookieJones

We need time for things to happen.
Walt wanted money. He famously fought with his brother over how much he was being paid and how he was more valuable to the business than his paychecks would imply.

If Chapek ever took personal ownership of an attraction in a park, and collected a seperate ticket fee for such, then you could start to complain that he's a greedy CEO. Until then, he's still just working for the shareholders.

😂 Oh my. Come on now. You're being funny, right? Find me a human who's name you COULD NOT insert into that three word sentence and it wouldn't hold true.

I didn't once imply that he was working for free, I was just pointing out that money was not the driving force behind most of his ideas.

I am not entirely certain what the rest of the point you're trying to make is or if it was directed at me.

I have zero love for Mr. Chapek but I don't blame him or anyone else for collecting money that a company is willing to pay them. You're right he IS A typical CEO and he is beholden to shareholders etc. Again this is all corporate America 101 here.

That's not coming from taxpayers' pockets though, so I don't count that. It's their "side hustle".
As long as there doing that after…I have no problem. There’s too much power for grifters
From writing books to paid appearances to speak at business conventions , they've got a very lucrative ways to earn when retired.

I followed the twitter .. and found one thread that almost gave me an aneurysm.. "Do you think they will add Encanto to Mexico's pavilion" What.. the hell...

And then the mocking tweet back "No, it will be next to the zootopia section in DHS"

*edit*
I lost it in the hilarious tweet thread about a cocaine attraction and the horrible geographics of certain people.. :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:

Dont blame me but I'm also laughing at my job. Because my boss insists that everything crypto is the second coming of Jesus.
And now crypto has lost so far 55% of its value in just a month.
Crypto…entertainment…tech…a revelation that banks are going to heavily in bubble real estate these last 2 years…

it’s an awesome day on the street.

But the memes, man. Come on! Wasn't it a fun meme?
People making fun of the horrible disfigured monkey NFTs and claiming they are "valued above 1,000$" is probably the best.

Can't wait for them to blame Covid for this as well.

Cue Principal Skinner's "Is crypto bad? No! Everyone is wrong!"

My 15-year-old gaming son thinks NFTs are the dumbest thing EVER. (I agree.) And he uses that as an example all the time, lol.
Yes, because it is just a paper receipt of a single copy in a very specific url address.
Thats akin's to say that you own X comic located in your Y room in Z house.
But once the house is gone.. the NFT is useless.
Also you can re-mint NFT images.. so the whole thing is even more useless.

Trying to make money off nothing has always lead to the exploitation of fools over the course of human history
