Honestly, I think SSE would look naked without the wand, now. Kinda like if they tore down the Sorceror's Hat, it wouldn't look right. But I think new narration, an updated script and "future" set, and some headrest padding is in order. :lol:

Why don't we remove all the rides and bring back the bumper cars... these are original to... or let's return to those hoovercraft things...
Progress... is what it's now... Doe-eyed dolls just doesn't cut it for kids raised on Quake and MTV.

My opinion, is that the Sorcerer hat is misplaced, and a slap to the face of the original designers of the weenie that once represented Disney MGM Studios.
By the way, I have nothing against plasma screens. I have three of them and I use them to watch MTV and play Quake.

Replace the omnimover system with the ride system used in Journey Into Your Imagination.
1) Omnimovers are best for moving large amounts of guests through attractions. SSE doesn’t have very long lines in these days.
2) Omnimovers favors quantity over quality. There are too many areas of dead space that I wish I could skip through, the JIYI ride system would do this wonderfully.
3) No more 60-second sporadic stops every time granny wants to get on her favorite ride.
4) No more out of sync audio.
5) No more shaking from the absence of motor shocks, or whatever causes this.

Just a few things that popped up:
One of the main reasons SSE does not have longer lines is because of the omnimover system. Not that it would be posting 120 minute lines, but if the capacity was reduced significantly (which the IMAG system would do), the lines would increase dramatically. I am not saying that is a bad idea. Just wanted to point that out.
Also, Corrus, have to disagree with one slight statement you made. I will certainly agree that the attractions of yesteryear will not pull in the younger crowds and teens. HOWEVER, I will not go as far as to say it has ANYTHING to do with sophistication. I will agree that it takes more glitz and special effects to impress children, but I don't equate that with sophistication. Unfortunately, it seems the long-lived attractions of the past won't work because society has an attention span of 3.8 minutes. We are constantly bombarded and want constant change. Therefore, cheap and easy is the way of attractions because you will have to remake them soon anyway. Does that mean greatly thought out attractions won't work, of course not (and I will predict EE will be an example of that), but it takes more careful planning and execution than before. Disney is about perfection in the guest's eye, so that is the bar. It takes a lot more to wow when perfection is the baseline compared with the "that new Disney thing" standard. It's about business decisions, but those decisions should not be based on trends because trends are so short-lived now that taking a chance on creative genius may once again be the way to go. Finding a way that is creative at its bones and allows for quick, fast updating as technology and current themes change will be the key. That will be quite pricey, however.

About the ride system, I heard that if they try to alter the track at all, they are seriously jeopardizing the integrity of the entire building, since the structure is actually supported by the track. That's why there's been no significant changes in the track layout/type. I know its unDisney to say impossible, but it's highly improbable to make any major change to the SSE track while keeping Epcot open (since everyone has to pass underneath the ball).
As for all this classic vs. new talk, I really think there's a great way they can do both. Cronkite's narration can be interpreted to fit today (and tomorrow's) technology, and they can spiff up the ride to add a lot more. IMO, They really don't need to change any of the first 1/2 of the ride (except to add "NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY" to the safety spiel).
Of course, if Cronkite doesn't work, how about Patrick Stewart?

I hope they refurb it, but I'd perfer that they didn't bring back the Cronkite narration or Tomorrow's Child. The Cronkite narration made it sound like a boring lecture, while the Jeremy Irons one adds some mysterious and mystical qualities to it.
