Wow, that's weird, but that's even happened up here in PA a few years ago, nothing big, just a little tremor.

To clarify - this wasn't a major earth shaking event - just rocking back and forth, doors rattling.

Dang, thats kinda unnerving. Is this going to become common or something?
No, it's just Disney working on a new ride. It connects the cruiseline with the theme parks. Less travel time from the parks to the liner, earthquake happens ship is dropped into 7 seas lagoon, guests board then another gets it back to the ocean. Gee what a time saver. :animwink:

I definately felt it! I was laying in bed and felt like I was back living in Los Angeles for a second. I thought to myself it felt like an earthquake, but there is no way it could be an earthquake, but guess it was an earthquake.

Wow. Thanks for letting us all know. That's crazy. I hope this doesn't start to become some new natural phenomena for the Gulf coast states (since I live in Louisiana). We have enough to deal with already with stupid hurricanes!

There is not a place on the planet that is 100% safe from earthquakes. There are of course areas that are more prone than others.

Here is a history of Florida earthquakes dating back to the late 1800's. Compare that to California and you can see we have little to worry about.

Here are a couple of seismic risk maps that really show the difference.

I'm sure this won't become common, as Yoda said, any place on the earth can experience a minor quake. I'm sure this was just one of those fluke tremors that tend to happen from time to time.

Little earthquakes/tremors good, big earthquakes bad; just relieving a little pressure. Not to worry.

Me too. I was sleeping and it woke me up. I just kind of laid there looking around thinking one of my roommates was messing with me by shaking my bed, but I didn't see anyone. I kinda thought I was crazy for a second. Wow, I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who felt that, hahaha. Yeah I'm not crazy!!!! hahaha:sohappy:

felt in tampa, fl

Around that time this morning, I asked my husband if he heard something. The painting over our couch was taping against the wall. It lasted just a few seconds, and I felt a slight vibration. I thought I was going nuts. I live in west tampa. anyone else over here feel it??? no news coverage as of yet.
