Castle Painting/Decoration Removal Schedule

Like many, I too enjoyed the gold accents on the Castle. But having them up for a long time might get a little old...bringing the Castle to it's original state is a welcome change.

I look foward to seeing it in May after all the work is done.

I Can't Wait

I can't wait for it to be returned to its original state...i thought te golden trim was nice but some time simple is better...also..in September I hear that Cinderella's Surprise Celebration! is coming back with the new castle..and im glad..i didn't enjoy CinderellaBration.Wasn't the castle bluish, purple at one point like after the 25th Anniversary with glitter and such.

Just recently came back from the world last week and I might be going crazy but the lighting schemes seemed different at night than they had been pre-HCOE accents. If that's the case, will we see a return to some of the old lighting schemes because the mirror is gone, or am I going crazy!? LOL!

so, when will the cranes come down? I really don't want it to screw up my dec pictures.....

According to other internet sites (MousePlanet among them), the outside painting and 50th decoration removal will be completed by December 5. The balance of December will be spent inside the castle, creating the sleepover bed chamber guest room.

Cinderella Castle Refurbishment Update

The MK Park is in the process of removing the HCOE decor and painting Cinderella Castle. During this time, the penthouse will be converted into a Castle Bedchamber.

In order to accomplish this in a timely manner, a crane will be used. The crane will be parked behind Cinderella Castle and it will be in the down position during theme park hours. The crane will have a construction wall around it and the walkway from Sir Mickey's to the Fairy Tale Gardens will be closed off. However, Fairy Tale Gardens will remain open.

During the night, additional cranes will be brought in to support other efforts on the lower levels. These cranes will be removed each morning before the MK park opens. Here is the schedule:

- Crane load in - Sept 10, 2006
- HCOE Decor removal Sept 10-13, 2006
- Paint Castle - Sept 19 - Dec 5, 2006
- Castle Bedchamber - Dec 5-19, 2006

This is a little bit "through the grapevine", but I wouldn't post it unless it was credible. I hope that because I've been around here for some time, I will have some credibility. Maybe somebody else can vouch for the accuracy of this information.

Interesting that this is a direct quote from a post on Inside the Magic...

Don't you think you should at least attribute where you got this from....I'm sure Dream Come True Joe would appreciate it.

Since he posted that he "heard it through the grapevine" I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he did not know the actual source.

BUT just a FYI to everyone, it is inappropriate to quote/reproduce something without giving credit to the original writer/speaker/photographer/singer, unless something is so well known that no one could ever think you created it yourself. If you don't know the source, then it's always a good idea to add that fact. :animwink:

perhaps they are turning it into a cake for Epcots birffday

Naw, I think they're going to turn Spaceship Earth into a giant Dunkin Donuts Munchkin... powdered sugar of course, so that it will rain down on the guests at night during a special new fireworks show.

I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt but it is plainly a "cut and paste" job. Very suspicious. Nice catch TiggerRPh! You are :king:

Yes, this did come from Dream Come True Joe. I'm sorry I didn't originally credit him. I wasn't sure of the reaction people would have if I were to say "I heard it from so-and-so, who heard it from this person... and so on". I also wasn't sure what the reaction would be concerning the fact that he's basically competition for sponsors of this site. I just wanted to avoid fallout, which I guess happened anyway. I will be sure to credit correctly in the future. Once again, sorry!

How is this going to affect the MNSSHP?

During HalloWishes, aren't there images that are displayed on the castle? Doesn't the Wicked Witch fly from it?

(I guess I'm just asking...will there be scaffolding up???)

I never saw a witch fly from the castle (at least, the two times I saw the show she did not). However, it will be kindof sad to have to watch the fireworks with all of the scaffolding up, especially since they do project images onto the castle for effect. Actually, the castle lighting for Hallowishes is a major contributor to the show.

I know that I've seen a witch fly from the Castle...she has green lights on her.

And, for Xmas, they have Rudolph fly.
