Blue: maintained as is, potentially with a walkway to the island (Retheme to somthing eg woodys roundup).

Pink: redevelopment as a new land for villains

It’s nothing like Autopia… because the cars have faces? It seems to be an outdoor car ride with very limited AAs. What differentiates it decisively from Autopia?
Autopia you, you know, drive the cars yourself? Thats the draw. Cars land and this attraction will have a story unfolding around you. Autopia/Speedway theres no story, no anything except you driving the car and inhaling fumes.

Its like saying Test Track and Tomorrowland Speedway are the same. Or all rollercoasters are the same.

Over the years we have had so many comments of wanting each of the parks around the world to be unique.

People here don’t actually want unique parks. They want the same park but with the best version of any particular ride.

Seeing as how the MK more often than not has one of the worst versions of many attractions I welcome a change in direction.

Has it been addressed why we need a second Autopia? I thought the consensus was that we didn’t need the first.
The MK Autopia is prime real estate, probably for something for Fantasyland because Disney is allergic to fixing Tomorrowland.

It'd be nice to keep the rivers but at this point I've given up any hope of Frontierland/Liberty Square keeping a nice, open, scenic waterfront

I mean, come on. You can't compare Tomorrowland Speedway to this attraction. Everything thing is different about it outside of the fact that its a car. The Speedway will be on the chopping block soon anyway, and for that I am grateful.

Just thought of something. While it’s clear once this is completed, Tomorrowland Speedway will be the second best cars attraction in the park. And while it may feel duplicative, RSR has a 40”, whereas 32” is the requirement for Tomorrowland Speedway. That’s not a huge difference, but cars would have a more limited presumptive guest range

”But she has a new hat!”

From everything we’ve seen, the “story” will be incredibly limited. This will be an Autopia through different scenery. There seems to be no hint of anything like the indoor dark ride portion that makes RSR special.

So it’s an Autopia where you can’t drive.

He also said “Frontierland sucks.” so. 🤷‍♂️
Magic Kingdom version kinda does. Probably the worst one in the world. It’s such a nothing burger in comparison to the other ones. That’s why I think those of is who’re excited for it getting changed are excited even if we disagree with the chosen IP. It’s kind of unfortunate that the busiest park in the world has got the worst version of a cool land, and that’s gotta change.

I shared this idea earlier, but I’ve clarified the concept. (Some armchair imagineering😅)

In the concept it appears they‘ve tried to keep the cars area facing north, with the south side made up of mostly rock work, maybe some frontier style buildings, and the back of the show buildings possibly to maintain the integrity of the frontier land street? The east side is mostly forest and rock work, the liberty belle dock building, and a small water feature which hopefully maintains the integrity of liberty square’s theming. And maybe on the west side they’ll build up the bayou aesthetic to work with tiana’s?

if they keep the northern section of ROA and dock the belle there, you’d have some killer views of big thunder and a nice natural area on a new waterfront to provide some scenery. Maybe some bridges crossing over the water flowing from tiana‘s bayou and the waterfall from cars?

possibly a mansion themed restaurant next to the haunted mansion show building to help transition to villains?

just some ideas… I know this likely won’t happen. But it seems like there is a path to doing this that doesn’t sacrifice the theming of each area, and may even be kind of cool.

Excellent draw-up. I think it will end up being somewhat similar to this, just eliminating the east side of ROA as well (the "river" will likely remain near Big Thunder to the current outlet IMO).

The problem with this is that it is only approx. 7 acres for villains, which would be quite small for a coaster and other major e ticket, retail, dining, etc. (though I suppose, as I have speculated, the coaster will go beyond the RR berm). If you eliminate the eastern and northern sides of ROA, you get to 10+ acres inside the RR berm.

I currently have no pointers it's Imagination. Leaning towards a retheme of RnR.

If the RnR retheme is supposed to involve the Muppets, I'm not sure that will soften the blow for many people.

I don't really care much about the Muppets or RnR, but I don't think a coaster like RnR can really do much to showcase an IP, so I'm not sure Muppets fans would be all that happy about it (although I guess they'd be happier than the Muppets being removed completely).
