MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

he also explained how cracked asphalt was great design for the park.

I practically worship Joe, but he’s not infallible. Haha

I think those are two very different things. One was an attempt to explain what he was forced to do via Disney budgets; the other is an underlying principle for the park. And hey, Dinoland actually was incredibly well themed! It just wasn't a very good idea for a theme to begin with.

It's always seemed obvious to me that Zootopia doesn't make any sense there regardless of whether Joe Rohde specifically said so, though. As I said, animals don't even exist in Zootopia! It's just a bunch of different kinds of humans.

Villains for me would suit Hollywood Studios because then you could have separate Halloween Parties geared to an older audience, plus you wouldn't have to worry about Villains dressed up people flocking in and out of Main Street USA. Hollywood Studios would become the cool park for teens and up!
And Fantasmic already features the villains. Yes I agree not putting Villains in DHS is a missed opportunity but then again maybe they felt they already had too many e-tickets for DHS. I think the light vs dark at MK was just too enticing.

Because kinetics and symmetry are eyesores. Gotcha.

Did you happen to catch that they put up very similar canopies over in the new area located at the former rose garden? Must be an awful eyesore there, as well.
The kinetics before made it feel very Epcot.

I only grew up knowing the Epcot style of the 2000s. I think why I loved it was even though it may be kind of outdated today, it still transported you to that time whether it was the 90s or millennium time. The canopy and colors of the buildings made it forward Epcot, of the 90s or 2000's, not 80's Epcot. Now that the canopy is gone and the Spaceship Earth building is back to white with visible view in front of it, it can make you see Epcot in the 80's if you never was born then. It's even more odd because without The Fountain of Nation's the area makes it less Epcot than the 80s, 90s and 2000s to me.

Perhaps if they painted the exit building black then the views it wouldn't be compared to the 80s then but another time. One supposed to say hey if it's restored to closer to 80's then that's a nostalgia cool thing, however there isn't that Epcot feeling when nothing else is 2025 or progressed except Starbucks lol.

Indiana Jones can fit if you think the Everest storyline fits. Because it's essentially in that same category.

It's not a leap at all. Encanto is more of a stretch imo. But I think they are aware and are going to try to make it make sense
Expedition Everest fits as part of India.
The country, it's animals and its people.
They are forcing Indy to work because "Old crumbly buildings and stuff."
I agree that visually it's a fit.

And a Mayan temple with a creature based based on Mayan mythology doesn't represent central America, it's animals(yeti isn't a real animal either), and it's people?
Im not sure i follow how it's a different concept other than Indy being there vs us just going to the temple by ourselves (which is what we do in everest)

I really don’t see much difference between Indy and Beastly Kingdom. I know BK is often compared to Pandora, but I feel like it’s actually more similar to Indy. BK used fantasy to represent Greek mythological creatures, while Indy will represent Mayan mythological beings. And to be honest, I’d much rather see a real culture represented than aliens from a Hollywood movie. In the end, what really matters is how well they develop it. I think the queue will be the strongest part, just like with Everest.

EE exists because Mt. Everest is located in India.
It's part of one of the countries represented.
It's a real location, and the Yeti is real part of the culture.

Indiana Jones has nothing to do with animals and the IP of Indy would not be found in Mayan culture.
Again, they are hammering a square peg into a round hole to make it fit.

I'm sure it will be very well done.
It actually looks like the ride is superior to Dinosaur.
But it is always going to annoy me that Dinosaurs were removed from the park.
I'd have liked them making Dinosaur better and putting the Indian Jones ride in Hollywood Studios next to - Indiana Jones.
Two wins.

I
The ip of the lion king wouldn’t be found in Africa either the ip doesn’t exist in universe Indiana jones is an actual person in this context presumably this will end up being a story like expedition Everest

I wouldn't say that. It fits fine. The loss of dinosaurs is sad I agree, but with a "Tropical Americas Land" I am totally fine with having a Mayan temple being used as the premise to an Indy attraction. Doesn't feel much different from how DisneySea does its "ports" and everyone feels that is very well themed.

But, alas, we have "veered away" from Cars.

That’s understandable I loved dinoland and I hope maybe under future leadership they come back around to dinosaurs for one of the expansion pads anyway we should probably get back on topic Tom bricker said they might be retheming pecos bill to cars too what does everyone think of that?
