^ yep, that's a testing vehicle for the temporary test track :)

Vroom, Vroom…Vroooooom! If you’re in Disney’s California Adventure park this week, you just may hear the sound of engines revving. It’s very exciting because you’re actually hearing the first early ride system tests for Radiator Springs Racers, the new E-ticket attraction coming to the all-new Cars Land, which opens in 2012.

This Radiator Springs Racers test vehicle arrived this morning, and while you’re not likely to get a good view of the car on a visit to the Park, we’re sharing some fun behind-the-scenes photos we took earlier today.

Radiator Springs Racers sounds awesome:

"The attraction will take guests in a six-person vehicle through a briefing with characters from the movie Doc and Lighting McQueen. Suddenly, guests will find themselves in the middle of a race which includes hairpin turns and steep banks with guests eventually racing another guest vehicle with random race results." [wikipedia]

If it does happen, would it be a direct clone from CA? Reason i'm asking is... wouldn't Radiator Springs Racers be too similar to Test Track? They have parallel storylines, and similar indoor/outdoor layout.

Parallel storylines? Uh, no. And the track layout is different. Radiator Springs will also have a section where 2 cars race, unlike TT.

Okay, this sounds AWESOME. :sohappy:I really hope this makes an appearance somewhere in WDW.

Radiators Springs Racers is also set in a brand new 12 acre expansion plot that recreates the Radiator Springs from the movie.

It all looks just a tad, wee-bit, tiny-bit different than the Test Track building, doesn't it?

Not identical.. but similar to Test Track, RSR will have different effects room to help the car get ready for the big race. I know the track layout will be different - I was talking about the fact that there is an indoor section and outdoor finale for each ride.

and here's a smaller, but more complete, version of the above concept art:

Ok, well that isn't a "storyline" then. :animwink: It merely uses the same technology as TT and that's about it for the similarities. TT for the most part is open on the inside of the ride.

Test Track wasn't the first Disney ride to use this technology. Journey to the Center of the Earth at Tokyo DisneySea was the first and includes a small section outside as well.

Should DHS get Carsland? Simply no. DCA needs all the attendance it can get and WDW doesn't need to steal yet another ride. Also this is my first post. I decided to join because I knew absolutely nothing about WDW but know everything about DLR. I have never visited WDW either but go to DLR every 1-2 months. So I am a DLR Vet :D

Thats incredibly creepy. IMO

 I think it looks great! Much nicer and more realistic than the average ride vehicle (eg the boats on Peter Pan). It also reminds me of a Ferrari!

Glad there's someone else on these boards that agrees with me! DCA needs the help more than any of the parks at WDW do. Maybe keeping this ride original to DCA (unlike the park's last big attraction, Soarin' Over California) will be incentive for people to actually go across the country to see it!

Oh, yes, that takes in the entire new land, including Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and the land entrance off of El Camino Real (parade route).

It's the Luigi's Flyin' Tires attraction that I think will be the sleeper hit of CarsLand though.

Perhaps the WDW version of CarsLand uses the two C Tickets, Mater's and Luigi's, plus some of the Radiator Springs sets and shops/dining to make a mini CarsLand in DHS on the 7 acres readily available there?

I can't imagine current WDW management adding a massive mega-million dollar E Ticket like Radiator Springs Racers shortly after they finish the Fantasyland expansion. It just doesn't sound like something the TDO we all know and love would do. But perhaps a smaller Cars Land with the two C Tickets and some retail/dining, all very well done of course, would be a better possibility for DHS within this new decade?
