Caribbean Beach or All-star Music resort for our 6-yr old DD first's trip?

Which resort would be the best choice for our DD first trip? I say it doesn't really matter since we don't spend much time there.

But theme wise it's Value all the way since Caribbean focuses more on a beach type style.

I guess what I getting at is putting it all together this is what I'm looking:

Theme, quietness at night, crowd level, quickest transportation, and if I'm going to deal with many misbehaving kids.

What would be the better place?

Pop Century or All Star Movies.

I would show her some pictures and see what she thinks.

You may share buses at an All Star at some point, at Pop you will not.

Of the 2 that you are thinking about, I say go with Music... I have stayed at both resorts with my DS who is now 8. He loved Music! It is the only All Star resort that has daily activities poolside and on select nights they have Movies Under the Stars where they set up a huge inflatable screen and show movies poolside. My son still talks about our stay there!

I've stayed at All Stars on most of my trips, and All Star Music the most of those, and it is my favorite value resort without question.

The rooms have been renovated recently, and I think they are quite nice. Clean, somewhat basic, but a little more classy than they used to be. I've never had a problem with noise or crowds, but I've always avoided rooms directly adjacent to pools.

I've always had the best transportation while at the All Stars compared to any of the other resorts I've stayed at.

I would vote for ASMusic but I've never stayed at CBR yet!

I've never had a problem with the bussing on all my stays there (4 to be exact). As another poster mentioned they have great pool activities every afternoon and the poolside movie in the evening is just a great way to end the night!

The only downside to the ASMu as opposed to CBR is there is no water slide so if this is important to your daughter then you many want to move up the moderate resort. One of the perks, though for staying at ASMu would be less walking more than likely. CBR is a massive resort and your room can be a distance from certain things (main pool, food court, bussing, etc.).

All Star is much more kid friendly, including the people staying at the resorts, i.e. Guests. While I never care whether people look funny at my kids being kids, you will get some looks from older guests and childless guests, not many, but some. I never care since I pay as much for my room as they do and my kids are well behaved.
Anyway, the All-Stars are really designed with kids in mind.

I would go to Pop Century. It has a great theme, its quiet, no bus sharing plus your close to alot of the resorts and closer to the Magic Kingdom than the All-Stars. And there are misbehaving kids anywhere so its inevitable, although I didnt run into many on my trip two weeks ago.

Of the two that you have listed, I would go with All-Star Music. I think your daughter would enjoy the theming there more. I've stayed At Caribbean Beach and my wife (then girlfriend and fiance, depending on the day of the trip) and I enjoyed it. I would just wager that your 6 year old would enjoy the giant decorations and the themed pools more than she would a Caribbean Beach feel. However, in saying that, I personally would choose Pop Century over any of the All-Star resorts simply because you don't have to share a bus if you stay there. I think brent2124 had a good idea. Show her some pictures of each and ask her which one she thinks looks the most fun.

I gotta say my DD's (8 and 3) love Pop. Great theming! They love the oversized icons, eventhough they dont know what some of them are, they love seeing an oversized Roegr Rabbit, Yo-Yo-, Computer, etc.

And if not Pp, then Movies, just because most kids know Disney from the actual movies tehy watch at home. Which she'll enjoy a lot also.

Bus sharing is not that common at the AS resorts! I don't know where this idea got started... or if it was common when the resorts first opened!?!

I've stayed there 4 times now (at 4 different times of the year, right from value season to peak season) and I can tell you the number of times on one hand that I've shared a bus. And the only time I've shared a bus has been during the middle of the afternoon and/or late at night (well after park closing).

When I stayed at AS Movies in October, we shared a bus going and coming to all the parks. We never lucked up to have one bus go from the resort directly to the parks

But to answer the OP question, I would vote for POP.....pretty much for the reasons the others suggested POP. I didn't mind the AS resorts, but because of the bus situation, I doubt that I will stay at an AS resort again.

As a 6 year old, I definitely think she would appreciate All Star Movie the best - the big giant Dalmatians and Woody and Buzz Lightyear, etc - my 6 year old cousin went crazy over it. Of CBR and ASMusic - never stayed at CBR, but if you're like us and hardly ever at the hotel, DEFINITELY don't waste your money on a moderate. Music has a guitar and piano shaped pool, as well as a kiddy pool - and the food area isn't more than a 2 minute walk from Jazz, or nearly no walk if you're staying in Calypso. :)

I have spent many Disney vacation at the AS resorts...cheap and you are never in the room that much anyways...BUT, my husband and I stayed at Caribbean Beach in the Pirate section of the resort! I am a HUGE Pirates fan and so I LOVED THIS! Everything was pirate themed, down the frig! I think that this room is something that your 6 yr old would love and remember!!!

Ditto!!! Go onto allears.net and look at a photo slide show of each of the resorts with your daughter! They have a ton of pictures of all the resorts so you can get a good idea of their appearance. Have fun!

When I stayed at All Star Music last month the resorts rarely shared buses. In my experiences the bus transportation service at the All Stars is the best on property.

When our daughter was 5 we took our first trip with her. We stayed at ASMovies and she loved it. And now we also enjoy POP. So I would say go with one of those. A girl that age tho I think would love Movies.
