Am I the only one that feels this "refurb" has been going on for an eternity?
It has but i read somewhere that the hurricane set them back a few months
It does seem rather long especially for an active resort with guests staying (vs new construction) and the Hurricane makes sense for part of the reason.

I think they also likely had an internal timetable with a deadline of finishing up everything by the time Riviera is ready to open. That’s not a great reason to delay, but could explain the lack of rush to finish up. I think they will be looking to market the restaurants as a close walk from Riviera.

Looking forward to staying at Caribbean Beach again.

We currently have 42 rooms booked for our Senior Trip in April. We were at Riverside last year, and tho terrific, CBR suits our needs more.

Nice :)

Senior as in high school or citizen? Either way I don’t want to get in line behind all of you at the bus stop ;) At my current age I’d have a better shot sneaking in with your group if they were senior citizens than high school kids. Getting old but still young at heart :)

It’s high school, and very well behaved. There are no ‘parks of the day.’ The kids can go when they’d like, where they’d like. So don’t worry about us crowding you :) The more the merrier, tho.

Was just thinking again, didn’t we hear that CBR would have a bus take Guests to Skyliner station? If you were to walk towards it, you’d be crossing the main entrance. I’m fine crossing roads, but I’d think the roads would be backed up from the steady stream, or trickle, of Guests headed to the station.

I’d think many in Aruba and Martinique would prefer to use the Riviera station.

Saw this permit today, there will be some sort of walkway to it.

I just cannot wait to see the debut of the newly refurbished Old Port Royale. With the addition of Spyglass Grill.

I also remember hearing mug fill stations were coming to the quiet pool areas....or maybe somewhere in each island. I don’t recall. Any truth to that?

When were there, 5/29-6/7, there were 8 Coca-Cola Freestyle stations, replacing ice machines/vending machines (it replaced both the ice maker and the vending machine). I've no idea whether this is a permanent move or is just during construction. You can get as much ice as you want, but you need a refillable mug to get the drinks.

That makes an incredible amount of sense. There's an inevitability that people from Jamaica, Trinidad (both North and South), and others, would walk to the main station, which when it opens, will be right next to the main entrance for the CBR.

The Disney Parks Blog put up this morning a look at the artwork coming to Centertown Market, and also stated "When Old Port Royale reopens at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort this fall".

I believe this is the first time Disney has updated the opening timeline? Given the recent progress in the entrance, landscaping, and now interior paint, this looks like it may be realistic this time.

Interesting they got rid of the formal entrees at dinner. My wife and I liked being able to get a meal of turkey or half a chicken with two sides. Granted, we never saw the station all that busy, but we liked having the option available. I see they have overnight oats as a breakfast option - I am assuming they will have regular oatmeal?? Assuming since this is first look they want to highlight all the new items.

Maybe the formal stuff will move to Sebastian's?

Being booked at CBR in December, I spoke with guest services last week about the Freestyle machines. The guests services official response was that has not been decided yet, or at least she had not been made aware of a decision. I hope they are permanent, as it actually makes the refillable cups worth it.
