I think we both did.
Expect a new building to be one of several wings with internal corridors and 4-5 floors.
They will have elevators in the new building, right? It was fun dragging our luggage and cooler up the stairs to our 2nd floor room....

Got an email this morning regarding our May reservation. It mentions that some areas will be under construction, but also that Old Port Royale Food Courts, Shutters, Banana Cabana Pool Bar and Calypso Trading post will be closed for refurbishment.
Options will be available for all three meals. Centretown will serve breakfast and dinner, and Centretown will serve breakfast and dinner and a selection of grab-and-go meals will be available for purchase in three island markets located in Aruba, Jamaica and Martinique regions.
Shouldn't be a problem in March 2017 - work is starting in May.Wow. Wonder what the time table will look like for mid March. We are a group of 162 and staying in Jamaica.
I emailed about our JUNE trip and got the cookie cutter response stating the same construction notice it shows for Trinidad on the website, it's a bit frustrating when it's obvious the person didn't bother to read the question.Got an email this morning regarding our May reservation. I hadn't even thought about that part. Along with the nightly movies and campfires.i am also wondering about things like refillable resort mugs and resort parcel pick-up service if calypso trading post is closed
My clients are traveling April 24-30 and got a letter...Shouldn't be a problem in March 2017 - work is starting in May.
After Sept 11th, CBR closed for a complete remodel of Old Port Royale. The bakery was expanded, grab n go was included, along with centralized cash registers and the removal of Captains Tavern in favor for the creation of Shutters. Plus a complete refreshening.
It was said by Disney that the scope of the remodel was too large to leave the Resort open for Guests.
The current work seems even larger, in addition to Village demo. And the Resort stays open. Wow.
Oh I agree with you. Completely. But Disney never said it was closed for low occupancy, but rather for a food services remodel. You said it yourself - after Sept 11th. Pulling the largest room inventory completely down when attendance was in the dumps and you're already doing a refurb sounds like good business to me. I don't think they could lose all of CBR's inventory at this point without having to turn guests away from booking at a WDW resort.

Because Disney would not say that. They had to find a way to spin it to look positive.Oh I agree with you. Completely. But Disney never said it was closed for low occupancy, but rather for a food services remodel.

Names tend to indicate it will be part but I can't confirm. And, to be clear: Will that new building for the DVC will be an independent resort and not part of CBR?
You mean just like not washing dirty guest towels on a daily basis is "to save water and help protect the environment" and not the company's bottom line?
