I would think the Trinidad South work is related to the new quick service spot. Spyglass Grille. Looks like maybe there will be exterior seating out by the water?? Maybe??

The new entrance to CBR was being worked on when I drove by last week. They were just about some building the entrance sign from concrete and they were putting in palm trees and other foliage. It did not yet have the name installed but it looked almost identical to the current entrance.

I like that they have done this, it was needed.

But the Resort opened in 88. The remoteness of Trinidad South had long been a complaint of many!! Thirty years later, it’s fixed lol.

It will also put less stress on the food court. But so did the removal of 9 buildings each with 64 rooms.

Excited for the final project.

I’m booked for late September there on a bounce back. Last year we were there in December, in the midst of the construction. It wasn’t that bad, but it was also very cold that week, so we didn’t really go outside that often besides to the parks. The food court, and such were supposed to be open by late summer, but I was talking to a agent yesterday. I was making a payment, and she remarked, you know there is construction going on right. I told her yes I was aware, but the food court will be open when I get there in September right? She replied, I wouldn’t hold my breath. Has anyone heard on how far they are along with the food Court? I may have to switch resorts. In September it’s still hot, so I want to be able to enjoy the resort benefits.

Any chance it could open later this year?
I see no physical reason why they couldn't complete the construction in time to open it later this year, but insiders have said they won't. There isn't really a resaon to rush things and open it early. They are doing this to help manage the transportation of people to SW Land, and also to justify the substantially higher room rates, and to encourage sales at Riviera. All of those moving pieces will fall into place around the same time, not years apart from each other.

Got it, wish they would open it early!

I heard the food court, OPR, is at about a 5-6month delay right now. That was from our TA that books us senior trips each year and CBR is our resort of choice.

Trying Riverside this year. Hope the kids love it :)

When you say a 5 to 6 month delay, are you talking about 6 months from now, or 6 months from the oringal coppletaion date, witch was late summer.

Thanks😀

thought all they were doing was adding the portochere out front for the new checkin

other than the beach bar are the expanding any other parts of the buildings footprint?
Six from late summer. What I have heard.

I do hope that isn't true. We've made reservations for the holiday period at both CBR and POFQ (in case), as it's the first WDW resort we ever stayed at back in '96 with my Mum (who passed some time ago).

I can't understand why they feel it'd be acceptable to potentially have the facilities down for a second holiday season when it's such a busy time! Not that they need to justify it, as many of TDO's decisions go against common sense.

If nothing else, the least they could do is update the timeframes, given many people will have booked for late Summer onwards having been told that refurbishments will be complete!
