Nia DeCosta has only 1 other major movie (Candyman) to her credit, which made only 77.4 million.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is doing the new Rey Skywalker movie. Even though she has done only documentaries.

Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson known for playing the drums on Jimmy Fallon's late night show is directing "Aristocats".

Jeff Loveness, who wrote Ant-man and the Wasp: Quantumania has mainly wrote for Jimmy Fallon as well.

Nia DeCosta - Wow! Experience!

Disney's reasoning for hiring:
Nia DeCosta - Almost too much experience. She'll work cheap.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy - Star Wars was originally going to be filmed in documentary style. We better to get someone that has only done them.
Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson - There was a cat that played drums in the Aristocats.
Jeff Loveness - Jimmy Fallon is funny.

If Disney is trying to follow the Roger Corman technique for making movies by hiring inexperienced people to direct movies they are missing one thing. Corman gave them super low budgets while Disney gives huge slush funds.

I don't know why they were selling it so much with the cats. That was some unfunny person's idea that they ran away with, when they should have thrown it in the trash.

It felt like something straight out of the early 2000s internet. Like someone should have added "I can haz da cosmos?" to that one poster with them.

Both this movie and Eternals missed the opportunity to have a full Bollywood routine of excellent music and fully fleshed out dancing extravaganza with TikTok-able dances.

Disney has decided to stop reporting revenue made on the Marvels.

To be fair to Disney, there's not much left to report on The Marvels. It bombed, and the global box office bombed too. The Marvels debuted in all foreign markets simultaneously (within 48 hours of each other) from November 8th to November 10th, and then flatlined quickly by the third week of November in foreign markets.

As of the latest box office from this weekend, The Marvels has lost approximately $224 Million for Disney. Ouch!

Production $275, Marketing $100, British Tax Rebate $55, Domestic Take $50, Foreign Take $46 = $224 Million Loss

In the last three weeks of this year, The Marvels may find a few million more at the global box office by counting the change left in theater seats, otherwise The Marvels is over and finished theatrically.

I would assume this kills the CM franchise. And whatever plans they had for her in future team up films, they almost certainly have to reduce her role now. They should just kill off the character and give the next big villain some major creditability and fear factor
