Captain EO

There isn't much in EO that I see as 80's kitsch other then music style and a few costumes. What it says to me is "Musical\Music video". A lot of architects would say that Epcot's build style was 80's with a lot of repainting. The way you talk is like everyone in the film is wearing neon and jelly bracelets drinking New coke. lol

No, I never said any of that. But to be honest, the film is dated and it's safe to say the reasoning behind it's return has pretty much reached the expiration date.

Captain eo is very dated and needs to go. It was nice for the first year or two but its worn out its welcome and something new should be coming soon hopefully. But with that said I also find it a bit amusing that some people here are so passionate about the show as far as it deserving to not be there in their opinion. Almost as if a magnetic force is pulling them from the entrance of Epcot to the theater. Personally I can't stand the laugh floor at mk, I think it's garbage, unfunny, and doesn't fit in tomorrow land. So what do I do, I simply walk by. It's an easy concept that some seem to not be able to grasp. If you really think mj was so horrible and doesn't deserve to be the, make a stand! at guest relations every chance you get, or better yet boycott the whole resort. Band together and make a stand for this so called injustice, because its not like Epcot has anything else to do.

You are exactly right, the next time I am there I will just keep on walking. The only reason why I saw it recently is because the last time I saw it was in 86 or 87 as an 11 year old and I barely had any memory of it. So I wanted to refresh my memory. My husband and I were laughing at how dated and corny it is now.

You're right, it doesn't. However complaining on a message board does work

I agree that we all have the right to our opinions. However trivial or misguided that some of them may be. I can be just as passionate as a lot of the folks on this website. And I will agree that the folks over at Disney probably pay very close attention to these forums. I just think that kicking and screaming and threatening to "boycott" is a bit over-the-top and kind of dramatic.

Which is how I feel about most of these complaints. Very dramatic and over the top.

Captain EO takes up very little real estate in EPCOT. It's an EPCOT Center classic, it isn't hurting anyone and it eats up crowds. 3D shows at these parks are so dated, there's no reason to replace it with anything else. They should clearly demolish the rest of the pavilion, though.

I love EO. That being said, trying to say that Michael Jackson isn't an appropriate image for WDW to use is ridiculous to me. More people associate Miley Cyrus with Disney, and we see how she's turning out. Disney also owns ABC, and have you seen some of the programming on ABC? One show is titled Don't Trust the B___ in Apt 23. Heck, Once Upon a Time includes many popular Disney characters and some of them aren't exactly shed in a positive light, so are we going to crusade against them too?

MJ was found not guilty and at least 1 accuser admitted to lying on behalf of his father's greed. Get over it. He was extremely weird because he never had a childhood or a normal relationship with his father. Innocent is innocent. I seriously hope that some of you never sit on a jury, because your notions of "widely accepted as guilty" are shocking and sad.
