Canadian Lumberjack Show to open at Epcot's Canada Pavilion in early October

It's ok, based on the video of the show, the lumberjack show is a lawsuit waiting to happen. One person with an allergy of those trees gets sick on a visit, that show is done (kinda what Disney might be hoping for anyway). There are allergies to sawdust and different types of pollens from trees and such. Why Disney would go this route with a show is beyond me.

Before anyone comes on and says, "well, they don't have to watch the show", you're right, they don't... And the person that gets sick (to a possibly unknown level) may not be attending the show. They may be just passing through Canada on their way to the UK or another country in the World Showcase.

Also, from the video shown, this thing looks like the stupidest, hokiest thing ever. Certainly not worth getting rid of a band like Off Kilter. But hey, I don't get paid the big bucks to cost the company lots of big bucks.

Are they pine trees? I can't have a real Christmas tree due to the fact it is a cut pine tree.
Not a serious allergy but enough to make me miserably stuffy during the holidays.

Probably just switched it to private while they clean up the page for one reason or another.

I can imagine what they needed to clean up. I'm sure they went from being real excited for their good fortune to feeling like they were flushed.

I have to wonder what standards Disney has for hiring entertainment these days. I'd think they'd want whatever they put out there to appeal to at least a third of the folk walking by, and not not offend the remainder.

Lumberjacks, while they could be quite entertaining in a proper show such as what ThemeParkJunkee posted above, just do not belong in any of the pavilions of EPCOT. By nature it's a loud, rather boisterous show. The way the show is now is comparable to the pool parties run by college programmers at Disney's resorts. Is that what they really wanted echoing across the lake?

Guess the FACT that they were not in the park for nearly three weeks escaped you, Why is known only to TDO but since it's well known that Disney wants to eliminate all Equity acts, it's reasonable to assume that they were looking for another non-equity act and being unable to find one they brought back VoL.

You really have no idea what you're talking about. Why don't you peruse the Equity agreement with WDW over on the AEA site. If WDW took the show down for three weeks they'd still have to pay them. Or maybe they were rehearsing. There was no gap in the employment agreement. Period.

While you're at it, read up about close of show notices and whatnot. Everyone should.

Nobody is SAFE on the property, but there are certain standards that the company is held to. Yes, any act can go at any time, but there has never been a time when a show has been brought down for weeks to "see" if there was something different. They make a decision or something else is found... Close of Show notice.

Their hiatus was to record an album that was released in July. Nothing more than that.

Am I seeing correctly, they took their FB page down? o_O

Nope, just the picture. At least I think that link was to the group shot that looked like it included the lumberjacks and the stage techs and a few other people. (As well as the one they "borrowed" without asking from @wdwmagic ) Someone perhaps told them Disney frowns upon employees taking pictures in backstage areas?

I wonder if Guest Relations is getting heat from all the guest complaining about the new show..

They're probably not getting that many complaints. Most guests won't bother to complain, it's only really the super fans who will even take much notice, most guests will either walk past the show or watch the show and think either 'that was good' or 'that wasn't very good' and not give it much thought after that.

Just like at the zoo. If the baboon in the cage doesn't do it for you, move on because the next animal just might.

You are most likely correct. I know that if I am in a place like Disney, I am not going to go to guest services and complain about streetmosphere that is not my cup of tea. I am just going to walk past.

The FB page it still there but it looks like they deleted all the photos and posts that were related to the WDW show

The twitter page still has some but the FB links are dead now:

That is not what was coming up when I quoted it. Obviously they took it down to clean it up.

I was on the FB page prior. They did far more sanitizing than the photo. The link brought you to a FB message last night about not available. They obviously did some work on removing the Off Kilter comparison remarks too.

...........

While it was painful to watch the video, it seems those type of remarks were far more appropriate to be placed on a Disney sight verses the replacement entertainment sight. I thought it was odd to rag at the Lumbrerjacks about Off Kilter demise. Be nice if Disney spent some time with the gentleman to improve the show if they are going to keep it and give some professional direction for what will work. Just the banter alone fixed would be helpful.
