Can you go to Character Dining without kids?

The answer to your question is: YES!!!

I took my mother to Chef Mickey's last year and she loved it! The place was crowded and I would say there were as many tables with just abults as there were tables with kids.

Go, Go, Go. We were staying at the Contemporary in June 2004 and were up early and decided at the last minute to see if we could get into Chef Mickey's without a PS. All we had was a 10 minute wait (it was very early in the AM). Ages were, 44, 42, 25, 23. Our youngest this year was 15 and we had dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern character dinner. For my brother's 40th birthday, we had breakfast at Cindy's, my son was 16 at the time my brother 40 and me, 43.

To tell you the truth I think the characters enjoy adults more sometimes.
Rarely, do they run full tilt slamming into a character, or pull hard on their
heads, or hit them below the belt when they aren't looking. Realize they
will come around to see you, so don't get up and follow them around the
room.

Hello,

My Mother and I will be taking our fourth trip to WDW this year, and wondered about going to a character meal.

Has anyone out there ever been to a character meal without children? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

Did you feel OK, or a bit silly? How did the characters interact with you? Were there any other families without children there?

I'd appreciate your comments.

My mom and I go to character meals all the time. We're planning our 4th trip since 2001 and we always hit the Crystal Palace character breakfast on our last day and we've recently discovered the Liberty Tree Character dinner. On our last trip we had 4 character meals. Go for it. The characters don't act any different if you're with kids or not. We were at the Garden Grill on our last trip in Nov 2004 and while I was trying to take a pic of my mom with Dale, Chip started pushing his way into the picture in front of my mom. It was a riot. If you want to go to a character meal I say go for it. Everyone's a kid at WDW! Oh and by the way I'm 28 and my mom is in her 50s so don't worry about being too 'old' for it.:p

Character meals are for everyone, so I wouldn't really worry about not going with kids. You won't be treated any differently and the characters will still have the same great time with you as they do with everyone else.

YES by all means go! My best friend and I went to 2 Character Meals, Ohana and the Crystal Palace. Ohana was a blast...we had a great time with Chip and Dale...who kid around with us a lot. The food at Ohana was also great. The Crystal Palace was also good, food and the Pooh Characters. We had a great time just awwww-ing at the kids hugging the characters around us too. Plus it was nice to go ahead and get those character pictures done.

Anyway, GO its worth it, and a lot of fun!

After much consideration (about 10 seconds) I'm gonna go for a character breakfast at Chef Mickeys.

Does anyone know earliest time you can book in?

Character Dining is a trip! Go! Have fun! If you feel weird about having Disney Characters interacting with you while you're eating, then you shouldn't be at Disney! :)

If Goofy stops by your table, tell him Jason from Naples, Fl says "Hello!" and I'll see him Labor Day Weekend. ;)

I've had zillion of pics taken with characters, so I have no problem with that, just wasn't sure about the character dining thing

I'll certainly be sure to pass on your greetings to Goofy!

I've never done it WITH kids... and I always, always do it! They interact with you just the same. Once I was asked to get up and dance with Disney's big flirt, the Genie- and my brother-in-law was challenged to an arm wrestling match with Donald (Donald won).

I think it's such a common occurance, nobody thinks to look at you weird.
