Can kids ever be too young for Disney?

Again people, while I appreciate your input, I am NOT asking whether you think a child is ever too young to go to WDW.
I'm asking if a child is ever too young to WATCH disney movies, and what movies would you recommend.

I think im going to go with Alice in Wonderland and Finding Nemo - nothing too scary in either of them I dont think.

I think they know that you're not asking it. They're just enjoying discussing the thread drift. I'm sorry! I kinda of contributed to it.

And movie-wise, Alice in Wonderland scared me as a kid... I think Nemo is a good choice though. Maybe some Pooh too.

I would start with the classic cartoons, not because you can ever really be too young for the animated movies, but just because they're shorter and easier to follow.

As far as movies, The many adventures of Winnie teh Pooh is a great one since those characters are represented rather prominently in the parks. My son loved that one and when we brought him at seven months he recognized the characters. Here he is with Eyeore.

He also loved the HM since I played the soundtrack for him many times.

Aww how adorable! :)
I agree... Most little kids will recognize the characters even if they're too young to truly interact with them.

Well, your title is "Can Kids Ever be too Young for Disney?" It doesn't specify movies and this is a forum about the PARKS so you are going to get PARK discussion. Honestly, I think it's a dumb question to ask if a child is too young to watch a Disney movie, no matter the villian. It's up to the parents and family for each movie. If mom and dad are ok with it, what do our opinions matter?? Same with taking a baby to the park. It's up to mom, dad, or caregiver.

My my my, dont you have a temper!!

Maybe if you looked beyond the headline and actually read the opening thread, you would see that I clearly ask for input regarding the movies.
As for putting it in the wrong section - who cares, honestly?

I asked a question to those out there with young kids, as I myself do not have any, and I will be taking their advice on board.

As for you thinking it is a dumb question, why bother posting a response? Its only your own time you're wasting. Time that could be spent getting your useless opinion across on someone elses thread. :hammer:

Firstly, BMarkelon thank you for your kind words in defense of my thread, its because of people like you that I keep coming back to this site and actually have the courage to ask questions that I know I will always get good answers to.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, I think some of you may be on to something with the Winnie the Pooh idea, and also the shorter cartoons - we all know the attention span of kids is non existent :ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

There was a series of tapes (I would hope they are on DVD now) called Sing -a-Long with Disney and Disney Lullabies.

They have short segments, and have the frightening things cut out.

I watched them with my son when he was a baby.

Yes, those are great for younger kids. I had a couple of those DVD's when my oldest was a baby and she loved to sit in her swing and watch them. That was how I used to get my house clean 'cause it was the only time she was satisfied to sit down. LOL

I don't think that age matters on a WDW trip.
Our youngest child was 4 on her first trip to WDW & she did great.
On the other hand, some friends of ours took their 4 year old daughter to WDW last fall & it was a disaster!
I think it all depends on the child.

I'm taking my daughter when she will be 6 months old. She "went" when my wife was 5 months pregnant too! It's never too soon (for both the parks or to show the baby Disney movies)!

As for movie suggestions, I'll have to go with Finding Nemo for Pixar (bright, colorful and the show is at AK) and Beauty and the Beast (because of the show at HS). I'd throw a lot of old shorts into the mix too so she knows who the mouse is. :)

Just as her comment bugged me. She can't control what people choose to discuss. Her movie question was being answered with just about every post. Yet, she got controlling about a thread drift, esp with an extremely misleading title.

OP, you're new. Thread drifts happen. As long as they stay pleasant and are somewhat related to the original topic, get over it. If you want a specific topic, be very specific in your question. Simple as that. Don't jump into a middle of a discussion and say I don't want to hear about that. I asked this. Stay with this. That's being controlling. And to be even more specific, there is a section of this site just for movie discussion. This is to discuss parks. You posted in parks. You're going to get people discussing parks. Sorry that doesn't make you happy

Fair enough, I'm just a "play nice" kind of girl. I've got nothing but love to give, especially on these boards. Because you noticed that the OP is new I think it's nice to have a little more patience. :)

Back on topic....there is a Springtime with Roo movie that would be a great Easter gift. My kids liked the Heffalump movie the most it seemed. The Tigger Movie was cute too, you definitely cannot go wrong with Pooh Bear, it's so sweet. Be sure to do a breakfast at Crystal Palace on your trip!

Just like to say thanks to WDWfqntflyer for all your comments.
Because of you, this has become my most popular thread so far!!

Suppose I'll just need to start some more new ones, try keep it up, and who knows maybe next time I'll be daring and stupid enough to talk about Universal in this section. Haha :hammer::p

Like others I'd recommened the sing-along-videos. They cover alot of ground in terms of music and characters, but they have the scary stuff taken out (with the possible exception of the Halloween one). Plus they're short at around 30min each so you may not have to worry about losing your child's attention.

But they don't have Pixar characters (at least I don't think most of them do) so I'd recommend Toy Story as a feature.
